Installation - Soundproofing

Note: The installation of soundproofing is only relevant if you have purchased a SOUNDPROOFING SET BASIC or KOMFORT as an accessory. If this is not the case, please ignore this page and proceed to the next.

Surface Preparation: For optimal adhesion of double-sided tape, proper surface preparation is crucial. Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, or grease. Contamination can significantly impair adhesive strength.

Temperature: Temperature also plays an important role during application. Most adhesive tapes develop their full adhesive strength only at a processing temperature of at least +10°C. At temperatures that are too low, the adhesive can harden and adhere poorly.

Tip: Press the soundproofing component firmly after application to maximize contact with the substrate.

Soundproofing Set Comfort - Double Application for Figures B & C

Step A: Applying Soundproofing to Front and Rear Panels

Apply soundproofing material to 3x Front Panels (each with 7 lamellae) and 1x Rear Panel (with 5 lamellae). This involves applying the soundproofing material (T01) to the lower edge of each lamella.

Step B: Applying Soundproofing to the Lid

Apply soundproofing material to the Lid (1x). Apply material T02 centrally and T03 to the lower edge of the lamellae.

Step C: Applying Soundproofing to Side Panels

Apply soundproofing material to 4x Side Panels (2x right / 2x left). Apply material T04 to the lower edge of the lamellae and T05 centrally.

Installation - Blocker

Important:

The Blocker prevents an air short-circuit within the housing. For better illustration, the Blocker is shown in yellow here; in the actual version, it is black, matching the rest of the soundproofing material.

Side View Overview:

The diagram shows the side view of the unit with airflow, the blocker component, the heat pump's rear wall, and the design hood's rear wall.

Minimum Clearances:

  • Device Height: Minimum clearance of 80 mm to the lid.
  • Device Width: Minimum clearance of 80 mm to each side.
  • Device Depth: Minimum clearance of 80 mm to the rear wall and 110 mm to the front panel.

Adhesive Positions for Blocker:

Note: The number of blocker strips can vary depending on the manufacturer/device type/soundproofing set. The crucial point is that the blocker fits snugly against the device without large gaps.

  • A: Adhesive position for the Blocker on the Left Side.
  • B: Adhesive position for the Blocker on the Right Side.
  • C: Adhesive position for the Blocker on the Lid.
  • D: Adhesive position for the Blocker inside the Hood.

Installation - Compressor Housing

Accessory Note: If you have not purchased a compressor housing, please ignore this page.

The installation of the compressor housing is only relevant if one was purchased. If this is not the case, please ignore this page and proceed to the next.

Surface Preparation & Temperature: For optimal adhesion of double-sided tape, which is applied to the back of the insulation nails, proper surface preparation is crucial. Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, or grease. Contamination can significantly impair adhesive strength. Temperature also plays an important role: Most adhesive tapes develop their full adhesive strength only at a processing temperature of at least +10°C. At temperatures that are too low, the adhesive can harden and adhere poorly.

Tip: Press the insulation nails firmly after application to maximize contact with the substrate.

Step A: Apply Insulation Nails

Peel off the film from the underside of the insulation nails and apply them to the device as shown, on the front, rear, sides, and lid. Press firmly.

Step B: Attach Insulation

Slide the insulation pieces onto the insulation nails. Apply to all 4 sides.

Step C: Attach Clips

Slide the insulation holding clips onto the tips of the nails and press them on.

Step D: Finished
