Step 1. Determine Reveal Type
Use scissors to cut the paper template along the line for your desired reveal type: Negative, Positive, or Flushed Reveal. Kraus recommends a 3/8" Positive Reveal.
Diagrams illustrate the different reveal types and the recommended 3/8" positive reveal.
Step 2. Position Template
Align the cut-out template with the actual sink to ensure correct sizing. Place the template in the desired location on the countertop.
Note: Ensure sufficient clearance for the backsplash, faucet, and plumbing.
Step 3. Trace Template
Trace the template onto the countertop using a pencil.
Step 4. Cut Countertop
Carefully cut the countertop opening following the traced line. Use the appropriate saw for your countertop material.
Diagrams show various cutting tools: Jig Saw, Circular Saw, Angle Grinder, Reciprocating Saw.
Step 5. Set up Mounting Brackets
Turn the countertop over. Align the sink with the countertop opening. Position mounting brackets approximately 1/4" (6.4 mm) from the edge of the sink frame. Mounting holes should be 1/4" from the sink edge.
Step 6. Drill Hole in Countertop
Using a 15/64" drill bit with a depth stop set to 3/8", drill the fixation holes in the indicated locations underneath the countertop.
Diagrams show drilling locations and depth.
Step 7. Install Anchors
Apply adhesive (optional) into the drilled holes. Insert anchors and tap lightly with a hammer until flush.
Step 8. Secure Sink to Countertop
Apply a bead of silicone sealant (or preferred adhesive) around the rim of the sink. Align the sink with the countertop cutout and press firmly.
Diagrams show applying sealant and pressing the sink into place.
Step 9. Attach Mounting Hardware
Attach the mounting hardware to secure the sink bowl. Remove excess sealant from the inside lip using rubbing alcohol. Allow sealant to set for 30-60 minutes.
Diagrams illustrate attaching hardware and cleaning excess sealant.
Step 10. Install Plumbing Fixtures
Connect the drain to the sink and the trap to the drain. Connect water supply lines to the faucet according to the manufacturer's instructions. Run water into the sink and check for leaks.
Note: Ensure the drain kit complies with ASME A112.18.2/CSA B125.2 and CUPC certification.
