Installation Testing

Test Car Stereo

A quick test before installation confirms the device is working normally. If the unit does not work after installation, recheck the steps.

  1. Combine the red and yellow wires of the car stereo and connect them to the positive pole of the battery.
  2. Connect the black wire to the negative pole of the battery.
  3. After 2 seconds, check if the screen lights up. If it does, the car stereo is functioning properly.

Diagram Description: A visual shows two connectors labeled A and B. Connector A has multiple pins. Connector B shows a block with wires: Red (+12V), Black (GND/Ground wire B-), and Yellow (+12V), each connected to corresponding terminals. The diagram also shows circular connectors for audio output.

Test Rear View Camera

This step requires the rear view camera to be purchased separately.

  1. Connect the pink wire to the top red wire of the rear view camera.
  2. Combine the middle red wire and the bottom red wire of the rear view camera and connect them to the positive pole of the battery (where the red and yellow wires were connected previously).
  3. Connect the black wire of the rear view camera to the negative pole of the battery (where the black wire was connected previously).
  4. If the camera lights up and the car stereo displays the reverse image, the rear view camera is functioning properly.

Diagram Description: A visual shows connector A and B, similar to the stereo test. It also shows a separate wiring harness for the camera with wires labeled Red, Black, Yellow, and Pink. The diagram illustrates how these wires connect to the main unit and the camera itself. The camera unit is also depicted.

After completing the tests, the car stereo is ready for installation.

Reversing Camera Connection (CCD)

The reversing video input can be connected via an RCA adapter cable. When a signal is present, the LCD will automatically switch to the camera image (camera purchased separately).

  1. Refer to Rearview Camera Installation before use.
  2. If the rearview camera is not installed, "No Signal" will be displayed.
  3. "Rearview Cam" can be triggered by: Pressing the "Rearview Cam" icon on the main interface or engaging the vehicle's reverse gear. In case of reverse gear engagement, it will automatically enter and display the rear view image.

[Safety Warning]: When driving normally, please try not to turn on the rearview camera to avoid distracting attention.

Rear View Camera Wiring

When using the rear view reversing function, the system will automatically disconnect from the mobile phone (calls, music, mirroring links, etc.). This is normal.

Note: When installing, whether using a reversing camera or not, please connect the reversing cable. Otherwise, Wi-Fi and BT signals may be affected!

Components: 1. Monitor, 2. Camera Power Source, 3. Camera (Optional).

Diagram Description: A car outline illustrates the placement of the monitor, camera power source, and camera. A detailed wiring diagram shows the "Reversing trigger line" connecting to "Back (A6)" in the power harness. The "Video Cable" connects to the "Reverse light Cable" (Red to positive, Black to GND). The "Camera Power Cable" connects to the "+ Reversing light Cable". The "Video (out)" from the monitor is also shown. The monitor itself is depicted with NTSC FORMAT and PAL/NTSC Auto Switch Light options.

After installation, start the engine and put the car in reverse. Check if the monitor displays the rear view image. If not, check the installation. The final step is to adjust the camera angle to ensure the rear bumper is clearly visible (suggested to occupy 5% of the screen image). Then, lock the lens bracket screws and complete the installation.

Attention: Adjusting the lens angle to see the bumper improves reversing safety. Please install strictly according to instructions.

Simple Troubleshooting Guide

ProblemCause and Resolve
Power offCheck if the power fuse has burned out and replace it. If there is a failure in the DC wires connection, reconnect them.
Fail in keyingProgram disorder; press the reset button or turn off the power to restart.
Fail in getting stationsCheck if the antenna has been inserted or connected correctly. If not, insert or connect it correctly.
Poor radio reception1. Antenna length may not be set up right; check if it reaches completely or is broken. If broken, replace it. 2. Radio signal may be too weak. 3. Antenna is not grounding rightly; confirm it connects the ground wire properly.
"STEREO" flashing1. Tune the radio frequency accurately. 2. Radio signal is too weak (press ST button to turn off stereo).
Noise, image jumping, no color. The disc is damaged or blurry. The color system setup is not correct; set to "PAL" or "NTSC" according to the connected TV condition.
Remote unavailable1. The battery of the remote control has no power; please change the battery. 2. The remote control window is unable to receive the signal; aim the remote control at the model's remote receiver window.
USB no readingThe connection is not correct. This card is unsupported.

Troubleshooting Details

  1. Car radio does not turn on, or turns off after prolonged use: Ensure red cable connects to ignition-positive terminal, yellow to battery-positive (B+ 12V), and black to battery-negative (GND 12V). Use only in a 12V-output vehicle. If it remains off, temporarily connect red and yellow cables together to the 12V-positive terminal. If still no power, check the fuse.
  2. Car radio powers on but produces no sound, or sound cuts out: Speaker negative wires may be improperly grounded. The amplifier IC might be burned out due to a short circuit. Check speaker cables for short circuits and ensure insulation. Test with a different speaker to confirm if the issue is with the radio or the car system.
  3. Car radio's BT is not working, or disconnects: Forget the device "CAR-MP5" in phone's BT settings and re-pair. Use default PINs (0000, 1234, or 88888888). If issues persist, try the "reset hole" on the front panel or disconnect the power connector for a few minutes.
  4. Car radio's mic is not working, or calls are unclear: Check BT volume settings. Ensure the dashboard is not too low, affecting mic pickup.
  5. Car radio cannot read USB flash disk or SD/TF card: Confirm card capacity (supports lower than 32GB normally). Try other cards. Ensure the card is inserted correctly.
  6. Car radio's remote control does not work: Check the remote's battery.
  7. Reversing camera cannot work: Check if the pink cable is wired correctly with the reversing camera's controlling cable. Contact for advice if unsure.
  8. Car radio cannot save time or station settings: Ensure the Yellow cable is wired to the car's 12V+ constant positive terminal.
  9. Car radio noise problem: Especially with amplifiers, noise can be due to interference. Ensure cables are well-wrapped. Test with a different speaker to isolate the problem.
  10. Screen Mirroring Failure: Check device compatibility. Enable car's Wi-Fi/BT and phone's screen mirroring. Select "CAR-MP5". If no signal, restart both devices. Note that some phones do not support mirroring.

If problems persist after troubleshooting, contact customer support for assistance.
