WeOS 4: Operating System Features
Westermo has developed the WeOS operating system for its current and future Ethernet product range. This Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching solution enables Westermo to create complex ring and routing solutions. WeOS provides solutions for numerous complex industrial network problems, while also protecting investments by ensuring future compatibility of solutions. At the core of our latest Ethernet hardware ranges, WeOS enables the creation of complex ring and routing solutions.
Westermo benefits from extensive experience in developing products for industrial applications. All Westermo network solutions are developed with ergonomics in mind. The use of a single operating system for all Westermo Ethernet products simplifies the installation, use, and maintenance of individual equipment and entire networks. Once a user is familiar with one Westermo product, they can immediately apply that knowledge to all our other equipment. A web page facilitates the configuration of numerous functions, while a command-line interface allows for precise adjustment.
WeOS integrates unique features that allow Westermo solutions to offer integration of existing equipment. WeOS also allows Westermo to offer a unique range of network security solutions, including high-performance inspection firewalls and the IEEE 802.1X standard. Secure remote access can be provided via encrypted VPN tunnels. The administration manual “WeOS Management Guide, 6101-3201” (in English) presents the numerous functions that can be configured.
