Mi 360° Home Security Camera 2K Pro Quick Start

1. Download Mi Home APP

Follow these steps to get the necessary application:

  • Option 1: Manual Download
    • For Android users: Download the "MiHome" app from the Google Play Store.
    • For iOS users: Download the "MiHome" app from the App Store.
  • Option 2: Scan QR Code
    • Scan the QR code provided to download and install the MiHome app.

2. Add Devices

Connect your smartphone and prepare to add the camera:

The Mi Home app's main dashboard is displayed. It shows 'My devices(0)' and a prominent 'Add Device' button, indicated by a red arrow.

  • Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network.
  • Open the MiHome APP, tap the "Add Device" button or the [plus icon] (+) on the upper right, and follow the on-screen instructions to add devices.

3. Search Mi Home Security Camera

Locate the specific camera model within the app:

The app's device search screen is displayed. Categories like 'New product', 'Video camera', 'Power swit...', 'Lighting', etc., are shown. The 'Camera' category is selected, and 'Mi 360° Home Security Camera 2K Pro' is highlighted.

  • Navigate to the "Camera" category.
  • Select the "Mi 360° Home Security Camera 2K Pro" to add it to your devices.

4. Connect the Camera to Network

Follow these steps to establish network connectivity for your camera:

Step I: Reset Camera (if necessary)

A visual shows the camera and a needle. Text indicates: "Please insert the needle into the resetting hole of camera, and hold it for about 3 seconds until the indicator light turns yellow, which is to reset the success." A checkbox shows "Operation confirmed".

Follow the instructions to reset the camera. Note: The new product may not require a reset for initial connection.

Step II: Select Wi-Fi Network

The app shows a list of available Wi-Fi networks, with '26676_5G' selected. A checkbox states "I have agreed to the User Agreement and Privacy Policy."

Select your Wi-Fi network to connect the camera. The system supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi.

Step III: Scan QR Code

A screen titled "Scan code to add" is displayed, featuring a frame for the QR code. The instruction advises: "Please make sure that the QR code on the device or user manual is in the identification frame." An option for "Add manually" is present.

Scan the QR code located on the bottom of the device to add it.

Step IV: Wait for Connection

A screen titled "Add device" shows a progress indicator and text: "Bring device closer to router", with status indicators for "✔️ Device connected", "✔️ Message sent to device", and "✔️ Connecting device to network...".

Wait until the connection process is completed.

Finalize the setup process:

Step V: Select Room

The app displays a room selection interface with options like 'Living room', 'Bedroom', 'Dining room', etc., and a 'Recommended room' section. A counter indicates '1/3' steps completed.

Select a room for the camera to help organize your devices.

Step VI: Rename Camera

The app shows a screen to rename the device, with "Mi 360° Home Security Camera 2K Pro" as the default name. A counter indicates '2/3' steps completed.

Rename the camera for easier identification.

Step VII: Share Device (Optional)

The app presents options to "Share the home" or "Only share this device", with text explaining that after sharing, family members can use all devices. A counter indicates '3/3' steps completed. A button labeled "LET'S GET STARTED" is visible.

Share access with friends or family members if desired. Complete all adding steps.

5. Settings

Access and configure camera features:

The app interface shows a camera preview on the left. On the right, a menu lists available settings: 'Camera settings', 'Home surveillance settings', 'Manage storage', 'Album', 'AI settings', 'Automation', 'Share device', 'General settings', and 'Help'. A [camera settings icon] on the upper right of the camera preview is highlighted.

Tap the [camera settings icon] on the upper right for camera settings.

Here you can set up all the camera functions, such as image settings, home surveillance schedule, automation, and software updates.

Customize your camera's behavior and appearance:

Physical Lens Blocking

On the left, the 'Camera settings' menu is shown, with 'Physical lens blocking' highlighted. A [toggle switch] is present. A second screen shows the [toggle switch] enabled, and text states "Camera is in physical lens blocking mode".

When this function is set or the camera is turned off, the lens retracts inside the cover to protect your privacy.

In this mode, the camera will show no images, ensuring your privacy.

Image Settings

The 'Image settings' screen is displayed, offering options like 'Timestamp', 'Lens distortion correction', 'Wide dynamic range (WDR) mode', and 'Rotate image'. A [toggle switch] for 'Timestamp' is enabled. A visual example demonstrates image rotation for different mounting orientations.

Set proper image rotation for different installation modes.

Regardless of whether the camera is flat mounted or ceiling mounted, the image will be rotated correctly.

Settings – Home Surveillance

Configure motion detection and alerts:

The 'Home surveillance settings' screen is displayed. Options include 'Home surveillance assistant' (with a [toggle switch]), 'Home surveillance period', 'Partition sensitivity settings', 'Alarm interval', 'Detection push notifications' (with a [toggle switch]), and 'Event notification'.

Enable Home Surveillance for motion detection.

The 'Event notification type' screen is shown, featuring [toggle switches] for 'Notification of detected motion', 'Person detected in the surveilled area', and 'Push notification when the baby cries'.

Choose the event notification types you need.

Event Logs

A section labeled 'Event Logs' displays a 'Surveillance' entry with time and description, and a 'Playback' option to check records. A detailed log entry shows a timestamp, "Person detected!", and a thumbnail image.

Settings – Updates

Keep your camera's firmware up-to-date:

The main settings menu is shown, with 'General settings' highlighted. A subsequent screen displays the current firmware version (4.1.2_0195) and the latest available version (4.1.2_0249), with an 'Update' button. Another screen shows "Updating..." at 0%. The final screen confirms "Updated successfully" with the current version number and an 'OK' button.

Step I: When there are any updates available, a [red dot] will appear on the button.

Step II: Tap the [Update button] to confirm the action.

Step III: Wait for the update and installation to complete. Ensure the network connection remains active.

Step IV: Finish the update by confirming.
