Grounding Instructions:

This product must be grounded. Grounding provides a path of least resistance for electrical current to reduce the risk of electric shock. The product is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. Plug into an appropriate, properly installed, and grounded outlet according to local codes.

DANGER: Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician if unsure about grounding. Do not modify the plug; have a proper outlet installed if needed.

The product uses a standard 120-volt circuit with a grounding plug (sketch A). A temporary adapter (sketches B and C) may be used for a 2-pole receptacle if a grounded outlet is not available, but only until a properly grounded outlet can be installed. The adapter's green-colored tab must be connected to a permanent ground, such as a grounded outlet box cover, secured by a metal screw.

Note: Temporary adapters are not permitted in Canada.

Getting Ready

Unpack the Box

Contents include: Chair, Seat Pad, Backrest Pad, Head Pillow.

Assembly (No Tools Required)

  1. Unfold the Chair: Remove all packaging materials. Pull up on the backrest to unfold the chair to an upright position; it locks automatically.
  2. Attach the Backrest Pad: Attach the top flap to the top of the backrest. Smooth the two bottom flaps under the backrest. Attach each side flap to the sides of the backrest using hook-and-loop fasteners.
  3. Attach the Seat Pad: Stand at the right side of the chair. Pull the footrest control lever to extend the footrest horizontally. Pull the rotation release handle (on the right side of the footrest) and rotate the footrest to a vertical position. Attach the seat pad to the seat using hook-and-loop fasteners. Wrap the front flap around the chair frame and attach it to the top of the frame.
  4. Attach the Head Pillow: Flip the flap on the back of the headrest up and over the top of the chair. Attach the head pillow to the flap using hook-and-loop fasteners. Adjust the head pillow height for comfort.

Taking a Seat

Operation

  1. Power On: Plug the power cord into a grounded power source. Turn the master power switch (on the bottom center of the backrest) to ON.
  2. Adjust Footrest Height: While seated, pull the footrest control lever (on the right side) to raise the footrest to a comfortable height. Release the lever.
  3. Adjust Backrest: Use the remote control's Recline and Incline settings to adjust the backrest angle for maximum comfort.

For a Foot or Calf Massage

  1. Deploy Foot and Calf Massager: Pull the footrest rotation release handle. Rotate the footrest away from the chair until it clicks into position for a calf massage (massager facing up). For a foot massage, rotate only until the massager faces up; do not let it click into position, allowing the footrest to move freely.
  2. Insert Feet or Calves: Place your feet or calves into the massager.

Important Notes:

  • A slight pause during gear shifts is normal.
  • To collapse the chair for moving: press the backrest release lever (under the rear right corner of the seat) and push the backrest down.
  • Do not stand or sit on the foot and calf massager.
  • For easier exit: retract the footrest and return the backrest to a full upright position. Ensure the area behind/under the footrest is clear before retracting.

Customizing Massage Intensity & Care

Customize Massage Intensity

The massage-softening pad softens intensity. Remove it for a stronger massage.

To Insert/Remove Pad:

  1. Flip the head pillow over to the back of the chair.
  2. Detach the top hook-and-loop fastener of the backrest pad from the chair.
  3. Open the horizontal zipper on the back of the backrest pad.
  4. Insert or remove the massage-softening pad as desired.
  5. Close the zipper.
  6. Attach the top of the backrest pad to the chair using hook-and-loop fasteners.
  7. Flip the head pillow back to the front.

Replacement pads are available from Human Touch.
