LOC8 Theft Deterrence & Location Solution
An integrated GPS tracker and theft deterrence feature to secure assets and aid in fleet management.
Simplicity and Endless Opportunity
The Pegasus TRK system simplifies mobile mapping, making it accessible to more users with less training, reducing costs without compromising performance. Weighing approximately 18kg, its ergonomic design and unique rotating-tilt mounting platform allow for safe, one-person set-up and operation. Intuitive software guides users from project planning to delivery.
Carrier Platform
An ergonomic, lightweight platform that rotates and tilts for safe mounting on vehicles. It offers three rotation positions (-30°, 0°, +30°) enabling diagonal data collection and cross point cloud patterns, typically requiring a dual scanner system.
Modular Camera System
Seamlessly integrate up to four additional 24MP camera pairs. These can capture front, side, and pavement angles for detailed texture analysis and intrinsic calibration, creating seamless panorama imagery.
Butterfly Side Cameras
These cameras feature dual positions (vertical and horizontal) to capture high-resolution imagery of vertical features like arches for texturing and damage analysis, or horizontal elements such as traffic signs and civic numbers.
Optical DMI (Distance Measurement Instrument)
Complies with traffic safety regulations by mounting on the car's backside and not exceeding the vehicle silhouette. It avoids the standard slip error common in wheel-based DMIs.
Second GNSS Antenna
Improves initialization accuracy, especially for rail and marine applications. It automatically calculates the lever arm, enhancing overall accuracy results.
LOC8 Theft Deterrence
Leica Geosystems' feature for asset security and fleet management, tracking systems wherever they are deployed.
Software: Leica Pegasus FIELD and Leica Cyclone Pegasus OFFICE
The system is powered by comprehensive software for a complete field-to-finished workflow.
Leica Pegasus FIELD
This software brings autonomy to data collection. Users can plan routes and set project goals from the office or the field. Reliable data acquisition is supported by automated routing that considers satellite availability and signal coverage. With edge computing and on-the-fly processing, data is collected and enhanced in real-time. The software guides users through project set-up and planning based on accuracy requirements and the environment, offering predefined profiles for optimal results. Live feedback via audio and visual guidance ensures confident data acquisition.
Leica Cyclone Pegasus OFFICE
Offering a familiar user experience within the Cyclone software ecosystem, this component provides a seamless data flow into post-processing and publishing. It enables precise geo-referencing, multi-pass trajectory adjustment, and the creation of colorized 3D point clouds that are automatically privacy-compliant.
Advanced Capabilities
The Pegasus TRK system is designed for efficiency, data quality, and privacy.
Guided Project Set-up
Automates mission planning and data collection for increased efficiency, improved data quality, and reduced project costs. Preset features and profiles simplify system initialization to data delivery. Intelligent routing ensures the most efficient data collection, with sensors triggered autonomously along the planned route to capture every detail. Live in-field viewing of data acquisition is displayed on a base map.
Built-in Privacy Features
The system anonymizes people and vehicles in real-time, ensuring GDPR compliance and protecting citizen privacy. An integrated, real-time AI algorithm identifies and blurs complete objects directly in the imagery during data collection. All information is encrypted and remains on the Pegasus TRK system.
Applications
The Leica Pegasus TRK opens up new mobile mapping possibilities for a wide range of users, from those new to the field to experts in surveying, transportation, and utilities. Developed for applications requiring long-range mobile mapping, it delivers high detail for digital twin creation.
High-Quality Imagery
Featuring a SmartFusion 'butterfly' camera system with up to 120MP integral view, expandable with front, side, and rear pavement cameras. Enhanced calibration delivers true color imagery according to the CIEDE2000 color-difference formula, providing realistic visual data.
Precision Positioning
The sophisticated integration of IMU and SLAM technology enables georeferencing in challenging GNSS-denied environments. Precision RTK positioning provides centimeter-level accuracy in real-time. Trajectory is further improved with optical DMI accessories, accurately measuring travel distance in GNSS-challenging conditions and avoiding traditional slip errors.
Expandable Imaging System
The fully integrated modular imaging system allows for the addition of more cameras to capture more angles and details. Automatic camera calibration simplifies system set-up. Collecting data at up to eight frames per second ensures no details are missed.
Plan. Capture. Deliver.
Plan and execute projects with confidence. Spontaneous visual and audio feedback along the route minimizes data collection failures. Leica Pegasus FIELD predicts mission time, storage, and battery capacity. Throughout the journey, image previews, accuracy estimations, and live system feedback provide absolute confidence in the data acquisition process.
