Installation

Note: Make sure that the power at the circuit breaker is off before wiring. Two versions are available: Neutral wire required and no neutral needed. Please make the correct wiring according to the switch you purchased. If your wall box does not contain a Neutral Wire, please try another location or call a professional electrician. Wire colors may differ from manual. Ensure wire conductors are securely fastened. Ensure Wi-Fi signal is steady and your mobile and Zigbee gateway hub are under the same 2.4GHz WiFi network. If you lack wiring experience, call a professional.

Step 1: Turn off the power

Turn off the circuit breaker and use an electrical tester to verify power is off before wiring.

Diagram Description: Shows the wiring for a ZigBee smart switch. It illustrates connections for incoming Live (L) and Neutral (N) power, and outputs to control up to three lights (L1, L2, L3). Notes indicate optional neutral wire connection and the requirement for a ZigBee hub. An icon of a screwdriver is depicted.

Step 2: Remove the old switch

Remove the old switch and pull it away from the wall.

Step 3: Identify wires

Identify Line/Load wires. Note: Wire colors may differ from the manual.

Verify power is off: Remove the faceplate from the old switch and use an electrical tester to test all wires connected to the switch to ensure there is no voltage. You may need to turn off more than one circuit breaker.

Step 4: Take pictures of the wiring

Follow the wiring diagram to connect the switch wires to the wires in the wall box with the wire conductors.

3.2 How to achieve multi-control association (only for N+L wire)

Note: Please confirm you have successfully finished the link method above for adding this switch to your Smart Life App before association.

1. Add another smart switch to the same Smart Life/Tuya App. (If a smart switch has already been added, proceed to the next step.) Note: If your switch requires a neutral wire, it does not need to be wired to the light; only L and N are required for wiring. This allows controlling one light with multiple switches. If your switch does not require a neutral wire, follow wiring instructions to connect L and the light. This enables simultaneous control of lights with multiple switches.

2. You will see two devices in the app. Click the main switch (acting as a single gang switch) to proceed.

Diagram Description: Screenshots showing the Smart Life app interface. One shows a "Main Switch" and a "New Added Switch". The user is instructed to click on the main switch.

3. Click the "+" icon in the upper right corner and choose "Multi-Control Association", then click "+" again in the right corner.

4. Choose the switch you want to associate and then select the switch button that will control the same light.

Diagram Description: Screenshots illustrating the multi-control association setup. One shows selecting the switch to associate, and another shows selecting the specific button on that switch.

5. Return to the previous page; you will see two items: your main switch and the associated switch. Note: Please confirm the associated switch is enabled.

6. You can now control your light with two switches. Do not associate another button on the same switch for multi-control.

7. To add a third or more smart switches, repeat the steps above. The result will show multiple associated switches.
