8. Application Example
The OREI 18Gbps HDMI 1x8 HDBaseT Splitter is designed for distributing high-quality HDMI signals over long distances. The system typically involves a single HDMI source connected to the splitter (transmitter). The splitter then distributes the signal to multiple displays via HDBaseT receivers using CAT cables. The system also supports IR and RS-232 control pass-through.
Diagram Description: The application example illustrates a typical setup. An HDMI source device (e.g., a Blu-ray player or PC) is connected to the HDMI INPUT of the OREI 18Gbps HDMI 1x8 HDBaseT Splitter. The splitter's LOOP OUT port connects to a nearby display for local monitoring. The eight HDBaseT OUTPUT ports on the splitter are connected via CAT6/7 cables to eight individual HDBaseT Receivers. Each receiver is then connected to a remote display via an HDMI cable. Audio outputs (Coaxial and L/R) from the splitter can be connected to an audio system. IR IN/OUT ports on both the transmitter and receivers allow for remote control of source devices. RS-232 ports facilitate serial control communication.
Receiver Unit Description: The RECEIVER unit features a DC 24V power input, HDBT IN port (RJ45) for receiving the signal from the transmitter, HDMI OUT for connecting to a display, AUDIO OUT for audio output, IR IN and IR OUT ports for IR signal pass-through, and an RS-232 PASS-THROUGH port. It also includes status indicator lamps for connection and data signals.
Sender (Transmitter) Unit Description: The SENDER (Transmitter) unit includes an EDID SWITCH, RS-232 port, IR IN and IR OUT ports, AUDIO OUT, LOOP OUT, HDMI INPUT, DC 24V power input, and eight CAT 6/7 OUTPUT ports. It also features status indicator lamps for power, input connection, and output connections.
