WARNING: Avoid the risk of electric shock or severe injury. When the power cable gets damaged it should only be replaced by the manufacturer or at a Truper® Authorized Service Center.

The build quality of the electric insulation is altered if spills or liquid gets into the tool while in use. Do not expose to rain, liquids and/or dampness.

WARNING: Before gaining access to the terminals all power sources should be disconnected.

Power Requirements

WARNING: Tools with double insulation are equipped with a polarized plug (one prong is wider than the other). This plug will only fit in the right way into a polarized outlet. If the plug cannot be introduced into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still doesn't fit, call a qualified electrician to install for you a polarized outlet. Do not alter the plug in any way. Double insulation eliminates the need of both a grounded third power cord with three prongs or a grounded power connection.

Diagram: Image of a polarized plug, showing one prong wider than the other, designed to fit into a polarized outlet.

WARNING: When using an extension cable, verify the gauge is enough for the power that your product needs. A lower gauge cable will cause voltage drop in the line, resulting in power loss and overheating. The following table shows the right size to use depending on cable's length and the ampere capability shown in the tool's nameplate. When in doubt use the next higher gauge.

Ampere Capacity Number of Conductors Extension Gauge
From 6 ft to 49 ft Higher than 49 ft
From 0 and up to 10 A 3 (one grounded) 18 AWG 16 AWG
From 10 and up to 13 A 16 AWG 14 AWG
From 13 and up to 15 A 14 AWG 12 AWG
From 15 and up to 20 A 8 AWG 6 AWG

* It is safe to use only if the extensions have a built-in artifact for over current protection. AWG = American Wire Gauge - Reference NMX - J - 195 - ANCE

WARNING: When operating power tools outdoors, use a VOLTECK grounded extension cable labeled "For Outdoors Use". These extensions are especially designed for operating outdoors and reduce the risk of electric shock.

Safety Warnings for Electric Spray Guns

Substances and Materials

CAUTION: The device is designed to apply coating materials like paint, varnish, enamel, etc. These materials shall have a flashpoint not lower than 70° F.

WARNING: Do not spray substances you are not familiar with and the potential hazard is unknown.

WARNING: Do not spray flammable substances. Use care with hazards originated by the substances sprayed. Review the text and information in the cans and containers, or the manufacturer specifications.

Suitable Materials

Non Suitable Materials

Before Operating the Device

CAUTION: The device shall not be used in enclosed spaces or explosive environments.

When working outside consider the wind direction. Wind can carry the coating long distances and cause damage and make the job difficult.

CAUTION: When working indoors verify there is adequate ventilation.

WARNING: The work area shall be free if ignition sources. Do not smoke while spraying or near the work place.

CAUTION: Use a breathing mask and safety glasses when spraying to prevent damaging your lungs and eyes. Use hearing protection.

CAUTION: People with medical implants. Before using the sprayer is recommended to visit their physician and consult with the implant manufacturer. The electro-magnetic field produced could interfere with the medical implant function.

While Operating the Device

CAUTION: Never point the sprayer towards your body, passersby or animals.

Make sure that the equipment does not absorb any steam solvent.

CAUTION: In the event you need to pause during the application process, do not set the sprayer sideways. Set it onto the container base to keep the device in a vertical position.

After Operating the Device

WARNING: Do not use solvents with a flashpoint lower than 70° F to clean the sprayer.

WARNING: Never open the device to carry out repairs in the electric system.

Parts

Diagram: A detailed illustration of the electric spray gun with labels pointing to its components:

Preparation

To achieve good results, it is important to prepare the surface to be sprayed and thin the paint or product to the correct viscosity before application. Ensure the surface is free of dust, dirt, or grease. Mask areas not to be sprayed with good quality masking tape. The paint or product must be thoroughly mixed and free of lumps. Many substances can be sprayed; consult manufacturer recommendations.

Thinning the Material

Most paints are ready for brush application but require thinning for spray application. Follow manufacturer instructions. Add thinner by 5% to 10% until the desired viscosity is reached. The included viscosity cup helps determine the correct viscosity by measuring the time it takes for the material to discharge.

Product Seconds to be discharged
Water based paint 20 - 25
Primer 24 - 28
Varnish 20 - 25
Oil based paint 18 - 22
Enamel paint 18 - 22
Aluminum paint 22 - 25
Automotive sealant 25 - 35
Wood sealant 28 - 35
Wood preserver No thinner required
Wood stain No thinner required

If dispersion capacity is too low after thinning, add more thinner gradually (5% to 10%) until needs are met.

Filling Up the Container

CAUTION: Disconnect the sprayer when filling the container.

Diagrams: Two illustrations showing the spray gun container being filled. Diagram (A) shows the suction pipe angled forward. Diagram (B) shows the suction pipe angled backward.

Start Up

Spray Selector

Before starting, adjust the spray type for the job. Loosen the spray lock (A) to release the spray disperser (B). Turn the disperser to the desired position and re-adjust the spray lock.

Diagrams: Two views of the spray selector mechanism. (A) shows the spray lock. (B) shows the spray disperser, illustrating adjustment for a horizontal fan pattern and a vertical fan pattern.

Material Volume Selector

Turn the volume selector (C) upward to increase material volume; turn it downward to decrease it.

Diagram: Shows the material volume selector knob (C) on the spray gun handle.

Turning On

WARNING: Never press the trigger while adjusting the spray selector.

Diagram: Shows the spray gun with the trigger switch (D) and the main power switch (E) indicated.

Spraying Techniques

For good results, keep the sprayer level and parallel to the surface (E). Maintain a nozzle distance of 10"-12" from the surface. Spray evenly from side to side and up and down. Avoid spraying at an angle, which can cause paint runs. Use light, even passes. For large surfaces, use a crossed pattern (F).

Diagrams: (E) illustrates correct spraying posture, holding the gun parallel to the surface. (F) illustrates a cross-pattern spray technique.

Maintenance

Cleansing and Care

It is very important to thoroughly clean the paint sprayer after each use.

WARNING: Inadequate cleansing will result in poor performance and will void the warranty.

Clean the sprayer outer parts and container with a cloth dampened with solvent or water.

Unscrew the spray lock (I) and remove the air cap and nozzle. Clean them with a brush and solvent or water.

WARNING: Never clean the seals, diaphragm, nozzle, air orifices, or any part of the sprayer with metal objects.

Do not submerge the sprayer in solvent. Apply solvent only to clean with a cloth.

WARNING: Never place the sprayer under water jets or submerge in liquid. Clean the housing using only a damp cloth.
