CPU Installation
Important: Ensure the CPU is correctly aligned with the socket. Do not force the CPU into the socket. Refer to the CPU socket diagram for proper orientation.
- Open the CPU socket lever.
- Align the CPU's triangle mark with the socket's triangle mark.
- Gently place the CPU into the socket.
- Close the CPU socket lever.
CPU Fan Installation: Connect the CPU fan cable to the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard. Ensure proper heatsink mounting.
Memory Installation
Install DDR5 memory modules in the DIMM slots according to the dual-channel configuration. Refer to the motherboard layout for the correct slot population (e.g., DDR5_A1 and DDR5_B1 for dual-channel).
- Open the clips on the DIMM slots.
- Align the notch on the memory module with the notch in the slot.
- Press down firmly on both ends of the memory module until it clicks into place.
Note: For optimal performance, install memory modules in the specified slots for dual-channel operation.
Storage Installation
M.2 SSD Installation:
- Remove the M.2 screw and standoff.
- Insert the M.2 SSD into the M.2 slot at an angle.
- Secure the M.2 SSD with the screw.
SATA Device Installation: Connect SATA data cables to the motherboard SATA ports and to your SATA devices (HDD/SSD). Connect SATA power cables from the power supply unit.
BIOS Setup
The BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) allows you to configure hardware settings and boot options. Access the BIOS setup utility by pressing the DEL key during POST (Power-On Self-Test).
Key BIOS Features:
- Q-Flash: Utility for updating the motherboard BIOS.
- Q-Flash Plus: Allows BIOS updates without a CPU, memory, or graphics card installed.
- Boot Menu: Access by pressing F12 during POST to select a boot device.
- Load Optimized Defaults: Resets BIOS settings to default values.
Note: Refer to the Gigabyte website for the latest BIOS updates and information.
GIGABYTE Control Center (GCC)
GIGABYTE Control Center (GCC) is a software utility for managing motherboard features, including fan control, RGB lighting, and system monitoring. GCC can be downloaded from the Gigabyte support website.
RAID Configuration
The motherboard supports RAID configurations for SATA and M.2 SSDs. RAID levels supported include RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 10. Configure RAID settings in the BIOS under SATA Configuration.
- RAID 0: Requires at least 2 drives for striping (performance).
- RAID 1: Requires at least 2 drives for mirroring (redundancy).
- RAID 10: Requires at least 4 drives for striping and mirroring.
Note: Ensure the AMD RAID Preinstall Driver is installed for proper RAID functionality.
