IKEA YTTERVÅG Four-Poster Bed Frame Assembly Instructions

Introduction

This document provides assembly instructions for the IKEA YTTERVÅG four-poster bed frame.

WARNING: STRANGULATION HAZARD

Never attach or hang items to any part of the bed that are not designed for use with the bed; for example, but not limited to, hooks, belts, and jumpropes. DO NOT REMOVE THIS LABEL.

For general assembly tips, ensure you have the necessary tools (hammer ?, screwdriver ?) and hardware. If you are unsure about any step, consult IKEA.

Assembly Steps

Step 1

Attach two long side rails to a central crossbar. Use 6x 114671 bolts and 12x 114670 cam locks. Insert the cam locks into the larger holes and turn them with a screwdriver ? to secure the bolts.

Step 2

Attach another crossbar to the side rails using 114670 cam locks. Ensure the parts are oriented correctly (✔️). Avoid incorrect placement (❌).

Step 3

Insert 4x 101359 dowels into the pre-drilled holes on a long piece.

Step 4

Attach two long side rails to a crossbar. Use screws and the 100490 Allen key ?. Ensure correct alignment (✔️) and avoid incorrect placement (❌).

Step 5

Attach another crossbar to the side rails. Use screws and the 100490 Allen key ?, securing with cam locks.

Step 6

Attach two feet/caps (102370) to the bottom of the vertical posts. Use 2x 102370 feet and 2x 100087 bolts.

Step 7

Attach two long side rails to the vertical posts. Use 6x 114671 bolts and 12x 114670 cam locks.

Step 8

Attach 114670 cam locks and brackets (114675, likely part of 116791 assembly) to a long piece.

Step 9

Insert 4x 101359 dowels into a long piece.

Step 10

Attach a long piece to the frame. Ensure correct alignment (✔️) and avoid incorrect placement (❌).

Step 11

Attach a long piece to the frame using the 100490 Allen key ? and screws.

Step 12

Insert 12x 101359 dowels into three shorter pieces.

Step 13

Slide a long piece into its position within the frame.

Step 14

Slide another long piece into its position.

Step 15

Slide a third long piece into its position.

Step 16

Insert 2x 101359 dowels into a long piece. Ensure correct orientation (✔️) and avoid incorrect placement (❌).

Step 17

Slide a long piece into its position.

Step 18

Attach two bracket assemblies (116791) to the frame.

Step 19

Slide two long pieces into place and attach them to the frame.

Step 20

Secure the attached long pieces using the 100490 Allen key ? and screws.

Step 21

Attach two long pieces to the frame. Use 4x 104325 spring bolts and the 100092 Allen key ?.

Step 22

Attach two feet/caps (102370) to the frame. Use 2x 102370 feet and 2x 100087 bolts.

Step 23

Attach 114670 cam locks and brackets (114675, likely part of 116791 assembly) to two long pieces.

Step 24

Insert 4x 101359 dowels into two long pieces.

Step 25

Slide two long pieces into place and secure them using 2x 124401 parts and an Allen key ?.

Step 26

Slide two long pieces into place and secure them using the 100490 Allen key ? and screws.

Step 27

Attach two long pieces to the frame using 2x 100087 bolts. Ensure correct alignment (✔️) and avoid incorrect placement (❌).

Step 28

Attach two long pieces to the frame. Use the 100092 Allen key ? and 2x 100087 bolts.

Step 29

Attach two long pieces to the frame using the 100092 Allen key ? and screws.

Step 30

Attach two long pieces to the frame. Use 16x 110789 screws and 114291 parts.

Step 31

Attach two bracket assemblies (116791) using 2x 110789 screws and the 116791 parts.

Step 32

Connect two parts using 124402 and 124401.

Step 33

Slide a part into its position within the frame.

Step 34

The frame structure is now partially assembled.

Step 35

Slide a part into the frame and secure it using 1x 124401 part and an Allen key ?.

Step 36

Attach a part using 1x 117327 corner bracket and a screw.

Step 37

Attach parts using 1x 124401 and 117327.

Step 38

Attach parts using 2x 117327.

Step 39

Attach 8x 105163 brackets using 8x 105163 and 191315 parts. Ensure correct alignment (✔️) and avoid incorrect placement (❌).

Care Instructions

Wipe clean with a cloth dampened in a mild cleaner. Wipe dry with a clean cloth. For increased stability, re-tighten the screws and other connectors when necessary.
