Product Overview
This predictive clinical digital electronic thermometer is designed for the intermittent measurement and monitoring of human adult and pediatric body temperatures. It can be used orally, rectally, or under the arm (axillary).
The thermometer can be used with or without a tip cover. If using a cover, slide it onto the sensor tip until fully engaged and peel off the paper backing. Covers are for single use only. If the thermometer has been stored in a cold environment, allow it to warm up to room temperature for approximately 15 minutes before use. Avoid storing it at temperatures above 140°F (60°C).
Intended Use
- For self-measurement/monitoring of human body temperature by adults and pediatric users.
- Measurement sites: Orally, Rectally, and Under the Arm (axillary).
Not Intended For Use With:
- Neonatal applications.
General Warnings
- Contact your physician in case of prolonged fever, as this requires medical attention, especially for young children.

- Do not open or modify this device; inaccuracy and/or harmful injury may result.
- Performance of this thermometer may be degraded if used or stored outside its specified operation temperature and humidity ratings. Avoid dust or storage in direct sunlight.
- Performance may be degraded if the device is exposed to mechanical shock.
- Performance may be degraded if the patient’s temperature is lower than that of the ambient temperature.
- Performance may be degraded if the tip is dirty or damaged; ensure the tip is clean before using.
- Performance may be degraded if the probe cover is dirty or an incompatible probe cover is used.
- Any probe covers included in this device package are for single use only.
- This device contains sensitive electronic components. Avoid strong electrical or electromagnetic fields in the direct vicinity of the device (e.g., mobile telephones, microwave ovens), as these can lead to temporary impairment of measuring accuracy. Move the device to another location if interference is detected. Maintain a minimum distance of 3.3 meters (approx. 11 feet) from such devices when using this unit.
- According to international standards, your device should be checked for accuracy every 2 years.
How to Take a Temperature
Press the power button to turn the unit on. The display should read "188.8" to confirm normal function. An "Err" message indicates the unit is not working properly. The last recorded measurement will show for 2 seconds, followed by a large "L" and a flashing "F" or "C", indicating that the thermometer is ready for use.
Oral Use:
- Do not drink hot or cold liquids or exercise before use.
- Place the sensor tip under your tongue as shown in Figure A.
- An accurate temperature reading will take approximately 8 seconds with proper use. An open mouth or improper placement could make the reading take longer.
Underarm Use:
- Wipe the underarm with a dry towel.
- Place the sensor tip in the armpit and lower your arm against your body as shown in Figure B.
- An accurate temperature reading will take approximately 15-20 seconds with proper use.
Figure A Description: Illustrates the thermometer sensor tip placed correctly under the tongue for oral temperature measurement.
Figure B Description: Illustrates the thermometer sensor tip placed in the armpit with the arm lowered against the body for underarm temperature measurement.
Reading the Temperature
- For readings 99.5°F (37.5°C) and below: The thermometer beeps 5 times, and the display shows a green backlight for 3 seconds to indicate the temperature is within the normal range.
- For readings above 99.5°F (37.5°C): The thermometer emits a series of short, rapid beeps, and the display shows a red backlight for 5 seconds to indicate a possible high temperature.
- If the battery is low, the backlight will not function until the battery is replaced.
Changing from °F to °C
With the thermometer turned off, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds. Release and press again to toggle between °F or °C. When you have made your selection, wait 3 seconds for °F or °C to start blinking, then press the button again to confirm your selection. The thermometer will be set to your chosen unit the next time it is turned on.
How to Clean
Clean the thermometer before and after every use. Choose one of the following cleaning options:
- Alcohol: Clean the sensor tip with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Wipe dry with a sterile cotton ball.
- Dishwasher Safe: To clean in a dishwasher, place the thermometer on the top rack only. Run the dishwasher on a normal cleaning cycle. A high heat drying cycle is NOT recommended.
How to Change Battery
Replace the battery when the [low battery symbol] appears on the display. Insert a coin into the groove on the battery lid and rotate counterclockwise to open. Replace the old battery with a new 3V, CR1632 battery, ensuring the Plus (+) sign faces upward. Replace the lid and rotate the coin clockwise to close.
