Setting Up this Device

⚠️ CAUTION: Make sure all units are switched off whenever connecting or disconnecting devices.

The Avaya HC020 Camera can be used as a first or additional camera on XT4300, XT5000, and XT7100. Please follow the following instructions to connect and use the HC020 Camera.

1. Use the HC020 Camera as a Main Camera

Step 1: Insert the USB connector into its socket at the rear of the camera.

Step 2: Attach the USB connector to the USB upper socket at the rear of the XT Series endpoint (XT4300, XT5000 or XT7100).

Step 3: If using the HC020 as a first camera, enable it as the Default Camera in: Configure > Advanced > I/O connections > Cameras > General > Default Camera: USB.

  • Please remove the adhesive transparent film in front of the lens before using the camera.
  • The video signal is captured from the USB port of the XT unit. The USB port is also used for camera control.

2. Use the HC020 Camera as a USB Camera for your Avaya IX Workplace or Spaces Client

Step 1: Connect the HC020 Camera to your laptop. For optimal performance, connect to a USB 3.0 port. Connecting to a USB 2.0 port may result in insufficient power and suboptimal behavior.

Step 2: Launch the Avaya IX Workplace or Spaces client and select the device (Avaya HC020) from the Settings > User Preferences.

Step 3: In this configuration, the HC020 camera can be controlled using the provided remote control.
