Avaya IX Huddle Camera HC020: Quick Setup and Connection Guide
This guide provides instructions for setting up and connecting the Avaya IX Huddle Camera HC020.

Congratulations on purchasing your HC020 Camera for the Avaya XT Series. This camera provides a high-quality 4K sensor video source for your endpoint, delivering HD 1080p at 30 frames per second (fps), featuring 8x Digital zoom, and an optimal horizontal field of view for video conferencing rooms.

Setting Up this Device
⚠️ CAUTION: Make sure all units are switched off whenever connecting or disconnecting devices.
The Avaya HC020 Camera can be used as a first or additional camera on XT4300, XT5000, and XT7100. Please follow the following instructions to connect and use the HC020 Camera.
1. Use the HC020 Camera as a Main Camera
Step 1: Insert the USB connector into its socket at the rear of the camera.
Step 2: Attach the USB connector to the USB upper socket at the rear of the XT Series endpoint (XT4300, XT5000 or XT7100).
Step 3: If using the HC020 as a first camera, enable it as the Default Camera in: Configure > Advanced > I/O connections > Cameras > General > Default Camera: USB.
- Please remove the adhesive transparent film in front of the lens before using the camera.
- The video signal is captured from the USB port of the XT unit. The USB port is also used for camera control.
2. Use the HC020 Camera as a USB Camera for your Avaya IX Workplace or Spaces Client
Step 1: Connect the HC020 Camera to your laptop. For optimal performance, connect to a USB 3.0 port. Connecting to a USB 2.0 port may result in insufficient power and suboptimal behavior.
Step 2: Launch the Avaya IX Workplace or Spaces client and select the device (Avaya HC020) from the Settings > User Preferences.
Step 3: In this configuration, the HC020 camera can be controlled using the provided remote control.
Connection Diagrams
Diagram Description: The diagrams illustrate the rear connections of Avaya XT Series Codec Units. A USB cable connects the Avaya HC020 Camera to the upper USB 2.0 connector on the codec unit.
For XT7000 Series Codec Unit: Connect the USB cable to the upper USB connector (labeled USB2).
For XT5000 or XT4000 Series Codec Unit: Connect the USB cable to the upper USB connector (labeled USB2).
Important Note
Starting from version 8.4.037, the HDMI port is disabled by default. It can be enabled via the camera's "Setting" menu, accessible using the camera remote control by pressing the menu button.
