2 Product Description
The following contains important information to help you familiarize with the functions of the analog phone.
Front View
The front view shows the AEI Analog DECT Phone base unit with the cordless handset placed in its cradle. The base features a numerical keypad, function keys, a display screen, and a stand. The handset also has a keypad and display.

Back View
The back view of the base unit reveals two ports: a 'PSTN line port' for connecting to the telephone network and a 'DC 6V Power jack' for the power adapter.

Connecting the Phone
To connect the phone:
- Connect the Line Cord to the PSTN line port on the base unit and to the wall telephone jack.
- Connect the AC power adapter to the DC 6V Power jack on the base unit and plug the adapter into a power outlet.
The connection diagram illustrates the setup: the phone base is connected to a wall telephone jack via a line cord labeled 'LINE'. The base is also connected to a power source via a DC power adapter plugged into a 'Power Outlet'.
Installation
To install the phone and stand:
The installation diagrams show how to attach the stand to the base unit. First, align the stand with the base unit, then secure it, resulting in the assembled desktop view.
To install the handset and battery:
The handset and battery installation diagrams show the process: remove the handset top cover by pushing upwards, insert the battery into the handset compartment, and then reattach the top cover by pushing downwards.
3 Operations
Answering a Call
An incoming call is indicated by a ringing tone and a flashing indicator. To answer a call:
- Pick up the handset.
- Press the Line (Line1/Line2) key on the base or handset.
Making a Call
Dialing with the Keypad
Enter the telephone number using the alphanumerical keypad; the call will start automatically.
Using the Speed Dial Keys
You can use the 6 pre-assigned speed dial hotkeys to quickly dial frequently used numbers. Press the assigned speed dial hotkey to initiate the call.
Call Options
While a call is in progress, additional options are available.
Using the Speaker Phone
For hands-free operation, use the built-in speaker. While on a call, press the SPEAKER key to enable speakerphone. Press SPEAKER again to terminate the call.
Putting a Call on Hold
To put a call on hold:
- Press the HOLD key.
- If a second call is received, press the next available LINE key to attend to the new call; the first call will be automatically put on hold.
Charging the Handset Battery
Before using the handset, charge the battery:
- Install the battery into the handset.
- Place the handset onto the base unit. The base unit will start charging the handset automatically.
- The charging indicator lights up red during charging and turns off when the battery is fully charged.
Checking Voice Messages
If the message waiting indicator lights up red on the handset or base unit, there are new messages in the voicemail box. Press the MESSAGE key to retrieve voice messages.
