Installation
- Plug the gateway into the socket.
- Pull out the battery insulation sheet from the sensor.
- Place the sensor.
Govee Home App
What you need:
- A Wi-Fi router supporting 2.4GHz (not 5 GHz) and 802.11 b/g/n bands.
- A smartphone or tablet running iOS 9.3 or above, or Android 4.3 or above.
Download the GoveeHome app from the App Store or Google Play.
Connection
Note: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz and 802.11 b/g/n bands before connecting.
- Connect your phone to your family Wi-Fi network.
- Open the GoveeHome app, tap the '+' icon, and select "H5041" or "H5053".
- Press the Wi-Fi pairing button on the gateway for 3 seconds until the blue light flashes slowly.
- Enter your Wi-Fi information in the app.
- Go to your phone's Wi-Fi settings and connect to "Govee_gateway_XXXX".
- Return to the app. The gateway will connect, indicated by a quickly flashing blue light.
- Connection succeeded: The blue light on the gateway will remain solid.
- Connection failed: The red light on the gateway will remain solid. Please recheck the steps and try again.
Using Your Device
Control your devices with the Govee-Home app.
Gateway receives the signal:
Blue light flashes quickly.
Add sensor:
- Gateway enters pairing mode (press button for 3s, red and blue indicators flash alternately).
- Sensor sends the pairing signal.
- Gateway receives the signal (blue light flashes quickly).
- Connection succeeded (blue light stays bright).
Note: If pairing is not successful within 30s, the gateway will exit pairing mode. If connection fails, recheck the steps.
Calibration:
Calibrate temperature/humidity data within the app.
Message Alert:
The app sends alert messages when temperature/humidity exceeds preset ranges.
Export Data:
Export data in CSV format after providing an email and time slot.
Unit Switch:
Switch temperature units (°F / °C) in the app. The export data will use the same unit as the app.
Troubleshooting and Warning
Troubleshooting
- Gateway not connecting to Wi-Fi or unstable connection:
- Ensure you are using a 2.4 GHz network.
- Verify network name and password, avoid special characters.
- Place the device within router signal coverage (within 30m/100ft).
- Minimize obstructions like metal doors or thick walls.
- Sensors not working:
- Pull out the insulation sheet.
- Check battery capacity.
- Ensure the sensor is installed correctly.
- Delayed or no app alarm:
- Enable necessary permissions for the "GoveeHome" app.
- Reduce distance and obstructions between sensor and gateway.
- Sensor faults or data missing:
- Reduce distance and obstructions between sensor and gateway.
- Remove and re-pair H5053 devices in the app.
- Replace the battery.

- Ensure the product operates within the specified temperature and humidity ranges.
- Do not disassemble the product violently.
