Congratulations on the purchase of your new Samsung TV. This guide will help you set up your TV quickly.

Getting Started
Step 1: Install the Stand
Follow these steps to connect the TV to the stand. Ensure you distinguish between the front and back of the stand components. It is recommended that at least two people lift and move the LCD TV. Stand the product upright and fasten the screws. Fastening screws with the TV placed down may cause it to lean.

Step 2: Install the Batteries into the Remote
To install batteries:
- Lift the cover on the back of the remote upwards.
- Install two AAA batteries, matching the '+' and '-' ends to the diagram in the compartment.
- Replace the cover.
Step 3: Connect Power and Antenna or Cable
Connect the power cord securely to the wall outlet and the TV. Connect a 75-ohm cable to the ANT IN port, linking it to a wall cable jack, VHF/UHF antenna, or a cable/satellite box's antenna/cable out port.

Step 4: Connect External Devices
For the best picture quality, use HD signal sources and HDMI cables. Note that not all digital cable programs are in HD; check with your provider.
Connecting an AV device (Blu-ray player, cable/satellite box, etc.)
- Best Connection (HD up to 1080p): Using an HDMI Cable. HDMI carries digital video and audio.
- Very Good Connection (HD up to 1080p): Using a DVI to HDMI Cable.
- Good Connection (HD up to 1080p): Using a Component Cable.
- Lowest Quality Connection (480i only): Using an Audio/Video Cable.

Connecting an audio device
Connect your TV to a Home Theater or other audio device for enhanced sound.
- Analog Audio connection: Using an Audio Cable.

Connecting a PC
Connect your TV to a PC to use it as a monitor.

Step 5: Run Plug & Play
When you turn on your TV for the first time, the Plug & Play function starts automatically. This allows you to select the On Screen Display (OSD) language, set the clock mode, and initiate the channel memorization process. Connection instructions are also displayed.
Use the arrow buttons on your remote to navigate, the ENTER button to select, and the MENU button to skip a screen.
To run Plug & Play:
- Language Selection: Select the OSD language and press ENTER. The Home Use screen appears.
- Usage Mode: Select "Home Use" and press ENTER. (Selecting "Store Demo" resets settings every 30 minutes). The Antenna Source screen appears.
- Antenna Source: Select "Air" (antenna only), "Cable" (cable only, no box), or "Auto" (antenna and cable, no box). Press ENTER. The Select Cable System screen appears.
- IMPORTANT: If your TV is connected to a cable or satellite box, skip steps 3 through 5. After Plug & Play, set your TV to Channel 3 or 4 as per your box's instructions.
- Cable System Type: If no cable box is used, select your cable system type. For Digital cable, select types for both Analog and Digital. Then select "Start" and press ENTER. Most systems are "Standard (STD)". Contact your cable company if unsure.
- Channel Memorization: The TV memorizes available channels (can take up to 45 minutes). The Clock Mode screen appears next.
- Clock Mode: Select "Auto" (for digital channels in your area) or "Manual" (if no digital channels or using a cable/satellite box). Press ENTER. The Daylight Savings screen appears.
- Daylight Saving: Select "Off", "On", or "Auto" and press ENTER.
- Time Zone: After the time zone screen, connection methods for best HD quality are displayed. Use the right arrow button to cycle through screens or the BLUE button to skip.
- Completion: The "Enjoy your TV" screen appears. Press ENTER.
Basic Functions
Changing the Screen Size
Your TV offers several screen size options to optimize viewing for different video inputs. Press the P.SIZE button on your remote to cycle through the available sizes:
- 16:9 Wide screen
- Zoom 1
- Zoom 2
- Wide Fit
- 4:3 Standard screen
- Screen Fit
Screen Fit: Displays a full HD picture without cutoff, available for HDMI (720p, 1080i, 1080p), Component (1080i, 1080p), or DTV (over-the-air 1080i) signals.
Changing the Picture Mode
Your TV has four preset Picture Modes with factory-adjusted settings for different viewing conditions:

Dynamic | Brightens picture for vibrant, enhanced image in brightly lit or sunny rooms. |
Standard | For a bright, detailed picture in a normally lit room. |
Natural | For a comfortable, easy-on-the-eyes picture in a normally lit room. |
Movie | For a studio-quality cinema picture in a dimly lit or dark room. |
To change the Picture Mode:
- Turn on your TV.
- Press the MENU button on your remote, then select Picture > Mode.
- Use the arrow buttons on your remote to select the desired Picture Mode.
- Press the EXIT button to exit the menu.
Remote Control Buttons and Functions
This remote control may include Braille points on the Power, Channel, and Volume buttons for visually impaired users.
- Power Button: Turns the TV on and off.
- Source Button: Switches between connected devices (Blu-ray player, cable box, etc.).
- Remote Light Button: Turns the remote control light on/off.
- Number Buttons: Direct channel access.
- Channel Selection: For additional digital channels (e.g., 54-3, press 54, -, then 3).
- Volume Buttons: Adjusts the volume.
- Channel List Button: Displays the channel list.
- Media Play Button: Views Media Play content.
- Quick Select Buttons: Access frequently used functions.
- Navigation Buttons (Arrows, Enter, Exit): Navigate menus and make selections.
- Colored Buttons: Used in various menus (e.g., Channel List, Media Play).
- Special Function Buttons: S.MODE (Sound Mode), SLEEP (Sleep Timer), MTS (Stereo/Mono/SAP), P.MODE (Picture Mode), P.SIZE (Picture Size), CC (Caption Decoder).

Selecting a Source
To view content from a connected device, press the Source button on the remote to cycle through inputs like HDMI, Component, AV, PC, etc.
Viewing the On Screen Menus
Press the Menu button to access Picture, Sound, Channel, Setup, Input, Application, and Support menus. Use arrow keys to navigate and Enter to select.
Changing Channels and Adjusting the Volume
Use CH/VOL buttons on the remote or the physical buttons on the TV. Note that external boxes control channels when connected.
Setting the Clock
Access via MENU > Setup > Time. Set Clock Mode to Manual or Auto, then enter date and time details. Use arrow keys for navigation and Enter to confirm.

Connecting a USB Device for Media Play
Connect USB drive to USB1/USB2, then select Media Play from the Application screen.

Network Connection
Connect your TV to your Local Area Network (LAN) to access online content like YouTube. Connect wirelessly with a LAN adapter or wired via LAN cable. Configure network settings via MENU > Setup > Network, selecting Auto for DHCP or manually for Static IP. Test connectivity.
