Installation Guide

Product Overview

The ERC 214 is a smart, multipurpose integrated refrigeration controller designed for temperature and defrost management, featuring 4 relays. It is suitable for operating temperature sensing control in refrigeration and heating applications, meeting the requirements of commercial refrigeration. The unit is designed for easy installation and optimal usability.

Dimensions and Installation

Dimensions (mm)

The controller has a width of 83 mm, a height of 36 mm, and a depth of 61.2 mm (66 mm including connectors). The drilling template specifies dimensions of 71 mm and 29 mm.

Assembly

The unit is designed for rear mounting using clip fixing. The diagram shows the assembly and removal process.

Wiring Diagram

The wiring diagram illustrates connections for sensors (Sair, S5, Sc/DI1, DI2), relays (DO1, DO2, DO3, DO4), and electrical input (3L, 4N, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14). It also indicates connectors with a maximum torque of 0.4 Nm.

Quick-Start Configuration

  1. STEP 1: Startup
  2. STEP 2: Select quick-start configuration menu

    Within 30 seconds of startup, press the BACK (◀) button for 3 seconds. The main switch (r12) will be automatically set to OFF.

  3. STEP 3: Select the preinstalled application "o61"

    The display will show the application selection parameter "o61". Press SET to select. The default value (e.g., "AP0") will blink. Use UP/DOWN (▲/▼) to select the desired application and press SET to confirm. The regulator presets parameters based on the selection and hides irrelevant ones. You can cycle through applications AP0 to AP6 using the UP button.

    App 5 Low temperature ventilated ref. units (-26 – -20°C), with timed electric defrosting (based on temperature)
    App 6 None (no preset application) with simplified parameters list
  4. STEP 4: Select the sensor type "o06"

    The display will show the sensor selection parameter "o06". Press SET to select. The default value (e.g., "n10") will blink. Use UP/DOWN (▲/▼) to select the sensor type (n5=NTC 5 K, n10=NTC 10 K, Ptc=PTC, Pt1=Pt1000) and press SET to confirm. Ensure all sensors are of the same type.

  5. STEP 5: Configure output DO4 "o36"

    The display will show parameter "o36" for output DO4 configuration. Select "Lig" (light) or "ALA" (alarm) using UP/DOWN (▲/▼) and press SET to confirm. The display will reset to normal mode.

Menu Structure

The menu structure allows access to parameter groups, parameter names, and values. Pressing SET for 3 seconds accesses state, settings, and service modes. Parameters are organized into groups (e.g., Input states, Configuration, Reference/thermostat, Alarm, Defrost, Fan control, Compressor, Others) and parameter names (e.g., Main switch, Application, Sensor type, DO4 configuration).
