The Honeywell BW™ RigRat is an easy-to-use area monitor that provides confidence to workers, alerting them to gas threats in their proximity – indoors and out, in temperatures from -40 to +140°F (-40 to +60°C). The Honeywell BW™ RigRat delivers:
- Up to 8 weeks of runtime on a single charge, offering longer runtime than any area monitor in its class.
- Up to six slots for interchangeable gas sensors, supporting electrochemical, PID, infrared, and catalytic bead sensors (measuring percent LEL and percent by volume).
- Integrated Noise sensor and Metrological data sensors.
- Enhanced configurations with programmable input and output.
- Approval for explosive atmosphere, certified for ATEX/IECEx Zone 0 and CSA C1D1.
- Flexible applications including zone declassification, turnarounds, confined space, routine maintenance, and fence line monitoring. Available with an optional pump for remote sampling.
- One-button operation for grab-and-go use, requiring no expertise.
- Simple setup with a smartphone via an easy mobile app for alarm set points, calibration records, and more.
- Added protection by alerting workers to nearby gas leaks, complementing personal detectors that cover only the breathing zone.
Device Description
The Honeywell BW™ RigRat is depicted as a robust, yellow and black portable gas detection unit. It features a prominent antenna, a clear display screen showing gas readings (e.g., OXY 20.9%), and several indicator lights. The unit is mounted on a yellow, circular base designed for stability.
