Safety Precautions

ATTENTION! IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS. PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT.

Electrical Safety

Always unplug the adjustable bed frame from the electrical outlet before cleaning or maintenance. Ensure all controls are off before unplugging. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. Do not operate with blocked air openings. Never drop objects into openings. Use only indoors.

Cease use and contact CUSTOMATIC for repair if the cord/plug is damaged, it's not working properly, it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water.

Grounding Safety

This product features a polarized plug for use with a grounded electrical outlet. Contact a qualified electrician to install a properly grounded outlet if the plug does not fit. Unauthorized modifications may void the electrical warranty.

Warranty Warning

This bed requires no user maintenance. Opening or tampering with the control box, motors, or hand controls will void the warranty. Only authorized personnel should perform repairs.

In-Home Use Only

This Adjustable Bed is designed exclusively for in-home use and is not designed to meet hospital standards. Do not use with TENT TYPE oxygen therapy equipment or near explosive gases.

Important Safety Features

  • Weight Fail-Safe: The control unit automatically stops all functions if an overload of weight is placed on the head or foot mechanism. Functions resume 30 seconds after excess weight is removed.
  • Weight Restrictions: Twin/TXL/Split QN/Split CA King: 700 lbs; QN/Full/FXL: 850 lbs.
  • Locking Caster Feature: Push down the safety latch on casters to prevent bed movement. Lift to resume mobility.

Note: On hard floors (hardwood, tile), place rubber caster cups or carpet squares under casters in addition to locking them to prevent sliding.

Recommendation: For optimal safety, plug your adjustable bed into a surge protector (not supplied).

User-Serviceable Parts

Do not open motors, alter wiring, or adjust/modify the product structure, as this will void the warranty.

Radio Frequency

FCC compliant device (2402~2480 MHZ). Operation is subject to two conditions: (1) no harmful interference, and (2) acceptance of received interference. No changes to the antenna or device are permitted to maintain RF exposure compliance.

Consumers with Pacemakers

Consult your physician regarding the optional vibrating feature and potential pacemaker interaction.

Product Ratings

Lift motors are rated for a maximum of three (3) minutes of operation within any thirty (30) minute period (approx. 10% duty cycle). Exceeding these limits may shorten product life and void the warranty.

The bed structure supports recommended weight when distributed evenly. Head and foot sections are not designed for individual support. Enter/exit the bed in the flat position for optimal performance.

Small Children and Pets Warning

Dispose of packing materials immediately to prevent suffocation risk. Prevent children or pets from playing on or under the bed. Adult supervision is required for children operating the bed.

Lift Warning

Do not sit on head or foot sections while raised or during lift/lowering cycles.

Moving After Installation

Do not place the adjustable bed base vertically on its hand or foot sections. Two people are required for moving due to its heavy weight.

Safety (Massage)

Massage motors automatically shut off after 15 minutes of continuous use. All massage functions will be operational again after 5 minutes.

Notice: Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.

  2. Remove all accessory boxes and cut the orange ties from inside the bed frame.

Attaching the bed legs

  1. Take out the four (4) arch bed legs.
  2. Attach each arch bed leg to the rectangular steel pipe on the bed, ensuring the leg opening faces inside the frame.
  3. Insert a screw fitted with a washer into the first pre-drilled hole on the steel pipe and through the arch bed leg. Tighten with the Allen key wrench. Repeat for the second pre-drilled hole.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the remaining arch bed legs.

Adding height with Leg Extenders

  1. Thread a leg extender clockwise into the pre-threaded hole at the end of an arch bed leg.
  2. Hand tighten the leg extender to secure it.

Setting up the electronics

  1. Locate under-bed light wires from the control box and wires attached to the arch bed legs. Connect them.
  2. Extend the power cord from the frame.
  3. Carefully rotate the bed frame upright (top side facing upward). Do not rest the frame on its side, as weight may damage the legs.
  4. Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Note: Using a surge protector (not included) is highly recommended.
  5. Install batteries in the remote control and test all functions. If the bed does not work, refer to the Troubleshooting section.
  6. Return the bed to a flat position before continuing.

IMPORTANT: Ensure power cords do not obstruct any adjustable bed mechanisms.

  3. From underneath, insert a knob screw through the hole and into the bracket. Hand tighten.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the other retainer bracket.
  5. Place your mattress on the bed frame. Installation is now complete.

Installing the Velcro leg straps (optional)

For King Size (2 TXL), Split California King Size (2 SCK), or Split Queen Size (2 SQ) beds, use Velcro straps to prevent base separation.

  1. Wrap the straps tightly around the bed legs (front & back).
  2. Fasten the straps to maintain stability.

Troubleshooting

Investigate symptoms and solutions for operational issues.

The adjustable bed frame does not respond when the remote is used. Remote control LED illuminates and appears to be normal.

  • Make sure the remote control is paired with the bed frame.
  • Check that the power cord is plugged into a working, grounded electrical outlet. Unplug the cord, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in. Press any remote button and hold until the light illuminates.

No features or function of the adjustable bed frame activates. Remote control does not work or light up.

  • Make sure the remote control is paired with the bed frame.
  • Check the power cord connection. Unplug, wait 30 seconds, plug back in. Press and hold a remote button until the light illuminates.
  • Check the surge protection device or electrical outlet for defects by testing with another appliance.
  • Check if remote buttons light up. If not, replace batteries.
  • Remove batteries for 30 minutes before reinserting.
  • Gently scratch the battery terminals inside the compartment with a coin or key.
  • Ensure batteries are properly installed according to compartment markings.

Head or foot section elevates bed frame but does not return to flat position.

  • Your bed frame may be obstructed. Remove obstructions from around and under the bed.
  • Check that the head section is not too close to the wall.
  • If a headboard is installed, ensure it's not too close to the mattress edge. Check distance between headboard bracket and mattress.
  • Check and replace remote control batteries if necessary.
  • Ensure you are following the motor duty cycle (Do not operate for more than two minutes over a 20-minute period, approx. 10% duty cycle).
  • Press lift buttons firmly and accurately.
  • Wireless remote control may experience RF interference from other devices. Wait several seconds and try again.

A clicking noise is heard under the bed when raising or lowering the sections.

This is normal. The lift motors click when engaged.

The adjustable bed is squeaking.

  1. Remove nuts, bolts, and white bushings.
  2. Lubricate them using a Q-tip. (Lubrication can be obtained from CUSTOMATIC's Customer Care Center).
  3. When reassembling, ensure a looser tightening on the nuts.
  4. As an additional solution, spray lubricated parts with a lubricant like WD-40.

The adjustable bed stutters when in motion.

  1. Clear any clutter or obstructions under and around the adjustable base. Radio frequency interference from other devices may affect operation.
  2. Check remote batteries.
  3. Press lift buttons firmly and accurately.

Split base system is out of sync.

Sync one remote to both bed frames. Refer to "Synchronizing two beds for tandem operation" on page 11.

Massage motors seem excessively loud during operation.

  • Hard surface flooring may cause added vibration. Place carpet pieces or rubber furniture cups under each leg or caster.
  • Elevate the head or foot section slightly to realign lift/lower mechanisms.
  • Ensure the bed is not in direct contact with a wall, nightstand, or other object causing vibration.
  • If the base is on another bed frame, check that massage motors are not causing the frame to vibrate or rattle.
  • Check that headboard attachment hardware is tightened firmly.

Under bed lights are alternating.

  1. Unplug the base where the light is not working.
  2. Turn the underbed lighting off using the remote.
  3. Plug the base back into the electrical outlet. Wait one minute.
  4. Press any button on the remote. Wait for three (3) seconds.
  5. Lights should now be working together.
