Schlage Handing for Non-Turning Levers

Understanding Door Handing

This guide explains how to determine the correct handing for Schlage non-turning levers, which are often used as dummy levers on doors where a latch mechanism is not required. The handing of a door is determined by the location of the hinges.

Door Handing Visuals

  • Left Hand Door: Depicts a door opening inwards to the left. The hinges are located on the left side of the door when viewed from the exterior.
  • Right Hand Door: Depicts a door opening inwards to the right. The hinges are located on the right side of the door when viewed from the exterior.

If a door requires two non-turning levers (e.g., for a double door setup), one right-hand lever and one left-hand lever will be needed.
