OPERATION MANUAL
NOTE
⚠️ Tasmota is not a commercial product and support is limited. You must be willing to independently investigate and resolve potential issues.
Detailed information about connection, changing settings and modifications is presented on the website https://tasmota.github.io/docs/.
Description
The NOUS L6t smart Wi-Fi switch with Tasmota open software installed (hereinafter referred to as the smart switch) is designed to organize automatic and manual shutdown of devices in the room, through remote access via a Wi-Fi network, using a smartphone or from a personal PC via the Web interface. Communication with the smart switch is configured via a Wi-Fi network, for which a wireless Wi-Fi adapter is used. It is equipped with a mechanical button and a global indication of the device's status. It is also equipped with an electromechanical relay.
ATTENTION
⚠️ The connection of the smart switch to the Wi-Fi network cannot be guaranteed in all cases, as it depends on many conditions: the quality of the communication channel and intermediate network equipment, the brand and model of the mobile device, the version of the operating system, etc.
Precautions
- Read this manual carefully.
- Use the product within the temperature and humidity limits specified in the technical data sheet.
- Do not install the product near heat sources such as radiators, etc.
- Do not allow the device to fall and be subject to mechanical loads.
- Do not use chemically active and abrasive detergents to clean the product. Use a damp flannel cloth for this.
- Do not overload the specified capacity. This may cause short circuit and electric shock.
- Do not disassemble the product yourself - diagnostics and repair of the device must be carried out only in a certified service center.
- Please contact the seller for a replacement if there is damage caused by shipping.
Design and Controls
The NOUS L6t smart Wi-Fi switch is a compact module with input and output terminals, a mechanical button, and indicator LEDs. The device casing features branding such as 'Smart Life', 'Wi-Fi: IEEE 802.11 b/g/n', 'Input: AC 90-250V 50/60Hz', 'Max load: 10A', and 'ROHS' certification.
Device Components:
No. | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Indicator/Button | Shows the current status of the device. A short press of the button switches the connected device "ON" or "OFF". |
2 | Network indicator | Indicates the status of the network connection. |
Installation
The smart switch is mounted in a regular socket.
Installation Procedure:
- Remove protective covers from the device.
- Connect the smart switch as shown in the electrical diagrams. The diagrams illustrate the input terminals (L, N) and output terminals (L, N) for connecting the load. Ensure correct wiring to avoid damage.
- Install the smart switch into the socket, then install the external panel.
- When the installation is complete, the device is ready to use.
Importantly: Make sure that the Wi-Fi network is stable and has a sufficient signal level in the chosen installation location.
Connection
A smartphone or PC is required to connect the NOUS L6t smart switch to your Wi-Fi network.
Procedure for connecting the smart switch to the Wi-Fi network:
- Ensure the Wi-Fi network frequency is 2.4 GHz. The smart switch is not compatible with 5 GHz networks.
- Connect the smart switch to the network. On your PC, the access point "tasmota-xxxxxxxx" should appear in the network list. If not detected, perform a "RESET" as described later (point 11).
- Connect to the "tasmota-xxxxxxx" hotspot.
- After connecting to the access point, a browser should automatically open to 192.168.4.1. If not, manually enter 192.168.4.1 in your browser's address bar.
- On the page, select your Wi-Fi access point and enter its password. Click "Save".
- Upon successful connection, the message "Successfully connected to Wi-Fi" will appear, along with the device's network address.
- Connect to your Wi-Fi network and navigate to the address provided in the previous step.
- The smart switch is now ready for use. Tasmota template and rules are typically activated automatically.
Configuration and Templates
The Tasmota firmware allows for detailed configuration using templates. The following JSON structure represents the template parameters for the NOUS L6T Smart Switch:
Template Parameters:
- Name: NOUS L6T Smart Switch
- Based on: Generic (18)
- GPIO Configuration:
- GPIO0: User
- GPIO1: User
- GPIO2: User
- GPIO3: User
- GPIO4: Button
- GPIO5: Relay
- GPIO9: User
- GPIO10: User
- GPIO12: User
- GPIO13: LedLink
- GPIO14: Relay
- GPIO15: User
- GPIO16: User
- GPIO17: User
The template must be entered in the "Template" field within the Tasmota interface. Ensure the "Activate" box is checked before saving changes.
Older Product Template (Pre-09.2023):
For products manufactured before September 2023, the template may differ:
{"NAME":" NOUS Smart breaker L6T", "GPIO":[1,1,1,1,32,224,1,1,1,544,1,1,1,1], "FLAG":0,"BASE":18}
Resetting to Factory Settings:
To reset the smart switch to factory settings, follow these steps:
- Plug and unplug the device 6 times. Leave it plugged in on the 7th time. The LED should start flashing, indicating it is ready for connection.
- Alternatively, if you have access to the web interface, type
reset 1
in the console and press Enter.
