Epson EM-C8100 Series: Setting Up Your Printer

Getting Started

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for setting up your Epson EM-C8100 Series printer. Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure a smooth setup process.

Languages Supported: English (EN), Indonesian (ID), Malay (MS), Thai (TH), Vietnamese (VI), Hindi (HI), Mongolian (MN), Traditional Chinese (TC).

Unpacking and Initial Setup

1. Unpack: Carefully remove all contents from the packaging.
2. Remove Protective Materials: Ensure all protective materials are removed from the printer.
3. Install Output Tray: Insert the output tray into its designated slot.
4. Open: Open the necessary covers as indicated in the diagrams.
5. Shake Ink Supply Unit: Shake the ink supply unit(s) 10 times to mix the ink.
6. Fit Ink Supply Unit: Fit the ink supply unit(s) into the ink supply unit tray.
7. Connect and Plug In: Connect the power cord and plug the printer into a power outlet.
8. Turn On: Power on the printer.
9. Load Paper: Load A4 size paper into the paper cassette with the printable side facing down. Slide the front edge guide to the paper.
10. Language and Time Selection: Select your preferred language and time settings on the printer's display.

Ink Charging Process

The initial ink supply units will be partly used to charge the print head. This process may result in fewer pages printed compared to subsequent ink supply units. Wait until the charging process is finished.

Paper Settings

1. Set Paper Size and Type: Configure the paper size and type for the paper cassette. These settings can be changed later.

Fax Setup (Optional)

If you plan to use the fax function, follow these steps:

1. Connect Phone Line: Connect the phone line to the printer.
2. Start Fax Setting Wizard: Touch 'Proceed' to start the Fax Setting Wizard.
3. Select Location: Choose where the fax will be used and configure fax settings. You can skip this step and configure it later by closing the screen.
4. Connect Phone Cable: Connect the phone cable to the appropriate port (LINE).
5. Sharing Phone Line: If sharing the phone line with a telephone, remove the cap and connect the telephone to the EXT. port.

Connecting to Your Computer/Smart Device

1. Connect: Connect your computer or smart device to the printer.
2. Install Software: Visit the Epson website to install the necessary software and configure the network settings.
