The AEG A18F10FN and A18F10FNNZ are cordless framing nailers. Key components include:

Battery Information
Remove the battery pack before starting any work on the machine.
Battery Charge Indicators:
- 78-100%: Three illuminated LEDs
- 55-77%: Two illuminated LEDs
- 33-54%: One illuminated LED
- 10-32%: One flashing LED
- <10%: No LEDs illuminated
Battery Pack Protection:
- Overload protection: If the tool is overloaded, the battery electronics will shut off the product. Restart by switching the product off and on again.
- Thermal overload protection: Overheated cells reduce performance. The control electronics will automatically shut down the battery pack to protect the cells.
- Current overload protection: Excessive current draw will instantly shut down the battery pack. Releasing the trigger resets the battery pack.
Operation
- Loading Nails: Ensure the battery pack is removed before loading nails. Insert nails into the rear loading magazine (10).
- Activating the Nailer: Squeeze the grip switch (7) to activate the nailer. The LED (12) on the rear base will glow green when activated.
- Nailing Modes:
- Sequential Mode: Place the tool against the workpiece and squeeze the trigger.
- Bump Fire Mode (A18F10FN only): Hold the trigger and contact the workpiece with the no-mar pad (3).
- Depth Adjustment: Adjust the depth-of-drive (2) as needed. Always remove the battery before adjusting.
- No-mar Pad: Use the no-mar pad for straight nailing applications to prevent unwanted marks. Remove it for skew nailing and general framing.
- Bump Fire Feature: The bump fire feature is not available for the A18F10FNNZ model.
Troubleshooting
- Product does nothing or operates sluggishly:
- Check air pressure supply.
- Ensure adequate lubrication.
- Contact Authorised Service Centre for worn or damaged components.
- Allow product to warm up if exposed to low temperatures.
- Allow product to cool if exposed to high temperatures.
- Verify correct fastener size and replace if damaged.
- Product jams frequently:
- Tighten magazine screws.
- Clean the magazine.
- Contact Authorised Service Centre for worn or damaged drivers.
LED Light Functions
- Normal: Solid green light (No flashes) - No action needed.
- Low battery: Solid red light (No flashes) - Recharge or replace battery. Contact Authorised Service Centre if the problem persists.
- Jam mode: Flashing red light - Clear jam following the operator's manual instructions.
Maintenance Schedule
- Daily: Clean body and tool vents, clean magazine rack, check bolts/screws.
- Monthly (15,000-21,000 nails): Lubricate nosepiece with air tool oil (Synthetic lightweight oil). Warning: Do not lubricate other parts.
- 2-4 months (30,000-60,000 nails): Check and re-pressurize tank.
- 6-12 months (65,000-80,000 nails): Return to Authorised Service Centre for service.
Safety Warnings
- General Safety:
- Always assume the tool contains fasteners.
- Do not point the tool at yourself or others.
- Ensure the tool is placed firmly against the workpiece before actuating.
- Disconnect the tool from the power source when a fastener jams.
- Use caution when removing jammed fasteners.
- When fastening electrical cables, ensure they are not energized. Hold the tacker by insulated gripping surfaces only.
- Use only fasteners designed for electrical cable installations.
- Do not use this nailer for fastening electrical cables.
- Do not hold the tool by the front of the magazine. Keep hands and body parts away from the nail exit area.
- Ensure the workpiece contact is fully positioned above the workpiece.
- Do not drive nails near the edge of material to avoid ricochet.
- Keep hands and body parts clear of the immediate work area. Use clamps to secure the workpiece.
- Keep face and body parts away from the back of the tool cap when working in restricted areas.
- The tool will recoil immediately after driving a fastener. Do not attempt to prevent recoil.
- Do not drive fasteners on top of other fasteners or at an overly steep angle.
- Check the work area for hidden wiring, gas lines, or water lines before use.
- After using contact actuation mode, switch back to full sequential mode.
- Test the driving depth on a scrap workpiece.
- Only use specified fasteners.
- Do not press the trigger while adjusting depth of drive.
- Always select full sequential firing mode before adjusting depth of drive.
- If the product stalls, switch it off immediately and determine the cause.
- Environmental Conditions:
- Ambient temperature range for operation: 0°C to 40°C.
- Ambient temperature range for storage: 0°C to 40°C.
- Recommended charging system temperature: 10°C to 38°C.
- Battery Safety:
- Never immerse your tool, battery pack, or charger in fluid.
- Do not dispose of electric tools or batteries in household waste. Return them to an environmentally compatible recycling facility.
- Store battery packs protected from moisture and in a 30%-50% charged condition.
- Store battery packs away from metal objects to prevent short circuits.
- Use only AEG chargers for AEG battery packs.
- Battery acid may leak under extreme conditions. Wash affected areas immediately with soap and water. In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly and seek medical attention.
- For battery pack storage longer than 30 days, store below 27°C and at 30%-50% charge.
- Individual cell monitoring maximizes individual cell life.
- Transporting Lithium Batteries: Lithium-ion batteries are subject to Dangerous Goods Legislation. Follow local, national, and international regulations for transport. Ensure battery terminals are protected and insulated. Secure batteries against movement. Do not transport cracked or leaking batteries.
- Maintenance: Keep ventilation slots clear. Store the product in its hard case. Use only AEG accessories and spare parts.
- Symbols: ⚠️ (Safety alert), V (Volts), min⁻¹ (Revolutions or reciprocations per minute), (No-load speed), (Regulatory Compliance Mark - RCM).
