Charger Safety Warnings
- Do not dispose of used battery packs in household refuse or by burning. Return old batteries to AEG Distributors for environmental protection.
- Do not store battery packs with metal objects to prevent short circuits.
- Use only System AEG GBS chargers for System AEG GBS battery packs. Do not use battery packs from other systems.
- Do not attempt to charge non-rechargeable batteries.
- Prevent any metal parts from entering the battery section of the charger to avoid short circuits.
- Never break open battery packs or chargers. Store only in dry rooms and keep dry at all times.
- Do not touch the tool with conducting objects.
- Never charge a damaged battery pack; replace it with a new one.
- Before use, check the machine, cable, and plug for any damages or material fatigue. Repairs should only be carried out by authorized service agents.
Additional Battery Safety Warnings
- [Safety Alert] To reduce the risk of fire, personal injury, and product damage due to a short circuit, never immerse your tool, battery pack, or charger in fluid, or allow fluid to flow inside them. Corrosive or conductive fluids can cause a short circuit.
Specified Conditions of Use
The quick charger is intended to charge AEG system slide 18V batteries. Do not use the product in any way other than as stated for intended use.
Mains Connection
Connect only to single-phase A.C. current and to the system voltage indicated on the rating plate.
Battery Management
- Recharge battery packs that have not been used for some time before use.
- Temperatures exceeding 50°C (122°F) reduce battery pack performance. Avoid extended exposure to heat or sunshine to prevent overheating.
- Keep charger and battery pack contacts clean.
- For optimal battery life, fully charge battery packs after use.
- To maximize battery life, remove the battery pack from the charger once fully charged.
- For storage longer than 30 days: Store batteries below 27°C, away from moisture, at a 30%-50% charge level. Recharge every six months.
Battery Pack Protection
The battery pack features overload protection for long life. Under extreme stress, the battery electronics will automatically switch off the machine. To restart, switch the machine off and then on again. If it does not start, the battery pack may be completely discharged and needs recharging.
Maintenance
- The supply cord cannot be replaced. If damaged, the appliance should be scrapped.
- Keep ventilation slots clear at all times.
- Use only AEG accessories and spare parts. Contact an AEG service agent for component replacement.
- An exploded view of the tool can be ordered from local service agents by providing the Article No. and machine type.
Transportation of Lithium Batteries
Lithium-ion batteries are subject to Dangerous Goods Legislation. Transportation must comply with local, national, and international regulations. Users can transport batteries by road without further requirements. Commercial transport by third parties requires compliance with Dangerous Goods regulations and must be handled by trained persons. Ensure battery terminals are protected and insulated, battery packs are secured against movement, and do not transport cracked or leaking batteries. Consult forwarding companies for advice.
