Product Functions
This product must be used with a main KAWA in-car device. It provides power and ACC signals to the main device and protects the car battery from over-discharge during continuous operation.
Supported Devices
Compatible with parking surveillance-supported KAWA in-car devices with a Micro USB port. Does not support devices with Type-C connectors. Ensure the Micro USB pin definition is correct before purchasing.
Important Note: For dash cams, smart rearview mirrors, and other smart in-car products, complete the guidance in the KAWA App after installation and connection to avoid potential malfunctions.
Installation
Step 1: Connect to the Fuse Box
Select a suitable car fuse box based on the wiring path and main device location. Ensure the fuse box contains:
- A regular electric fuse with an output voltage of 12V or 24V and sufficient output current (12V or 24V when ACC is off).
- An ACC power fuse.
Step 2: Connect the Hardwire Kit to the Fuse Box
- Connect the power cable (yellow) to the regular electric fuse (12V/24V when ACC is off).
- Connect the ACC signal cable (red) to the ACC power fuse.
- Connect the ground wire (black) to the negative terminal or ground of the fuse box.
Important Notes:
- Installation and wiring paths may differ. Seek professional assistance if needed.
- Turn off the car engine and power before installation to prevent short circuits.
Step 3: Test the Connection and ACC Signal
For Dash Cams:
- Connect the hardwire kit's USB port to the main device's power outlet (DC/IN). Start the engine. If the device doesn't power on, check the power cable connection to the regular electric fuse.
- After the device turns on, turn off the engine and remove the key. Check if the device powers off or enters sleep mode. Note that some cars may require opening the driver's door or a waiting period after the engine is turned off for the ACC power off signal to trigger.
- Restart the engine and verify the device automatically turns on.
If the tests pass, the connection is correct. If not, recheck wiring. Contact after-sales service if issues persist.
For Smart Rearview Mirrors and Other Smart In-Car Devices:
- Connect the hardwire kit's USB port to the main device's power outlet (DC/IN). Start the engine. If the device doesn't power on, manually turn it on by holding the power button. If "Connect to an external power source" appears, check the power cable connection to the regular electric fuse.
- In the device's settings, navigate to Settings > Power on/off settings and select ACC detection mode. Restart the device for the setting to take effect.
- After restarting, turn off the engine and remove the key. Check if the device powers off or enters sleep mode. Similar to dash cams, ACC power off signal timing may vary by car model.
- Restart the engine and verify the device automatically turns on.
If the tests pass, the connection is correct. If not, recheck wiring. Contact after-sales service if issues persist.
Step 4: Cable Management
Route the hardwire kit to the main device location. Secure excess cable length by tying it up; do not cut it, as this can affect power and ACC signal transmission.
Enabling Parking Surveillance Function
The parking surveillance function is disabled by default and must be enabled within the main device's settings. Refer to the main device's user manual for configuration instructions.
Note: Read all instructions carefully before use for safety.
