Alpha Antenna HOA Buster
User Guide - Version 2.1
Introduction
The 'HOA Buster' antenna is designed for amateur ham radio operators. It leverages existing metal gutters to function as an antenna, allowing external tuners to achieve a near-perfect match, thereby overcoming common restrictions.
Product Overview
- 1 Top of Mast Mount
- 1 Ground rod
- 1 Eight-foot jumper wire with clips
- 1 Alpha Match with riser
Product Specifications
Frequency Coverage: 1.8MHz to 54MHz. The 1.8MHz band performance is dependent on the length of the gutter being sufficient.
Power Handling: 250 PEP SSB, 125 CW, or 25 watts for digital modes.
Installation and Setup
- Clip the jumper wire to your gutter.
- Extend the full length of the jumper wire, ensuring it does not touch the ground.
- Clip the jumper wire to the Hex Nut located on the bottom of the Alpha Match.
- Attach your coaxial cable to the SO239 connector on the bottom of the Match and route the coax to your equipment.
- Crucially, ensure the coax does not run parallel to the jumper wire.
- Insert the included metal 10-inch stake into the ground. Attach the included mount onto the stake.
