- Do not allow cord to hang over edge of table/counter or touch hot surfaces. Place unit away from sinks and hot surfaces.
- Plug charger directly into an electrical outlet.
- Use charger only in a standard electrical outlet (120V/60Hz).
- Unplug charger before cleaning or maintenance.
- Do not look into air vents when unit is on, as debris may be discharged.
- Battery Leakage: If liquid (20-35% potassium hydroxide solution) contacts skin, wash with soap and water or neutralize with mild acid (lemon juice/vinegar). If it contacts eyes, flush immediately with clean water for at least 10 minutes. Seek medical attention.

- a) Prevent unintentional starting: Ensure switch is OFF before handling.
- b) Recharge only with the manufacturer-specified charger.
- c) Do not use a damaged or modified battery pack or appliance.

Product Overview & Operation
Intended Use
This BLACK+DECKER lithium-ion cordless vacuum cleaner is designed for light, dry vacuum cleaning purposes for household use only.
Charging the Battery
[WARNING]: For use only with the supplied charger.
[WARNING]: Before charging, ensure the appliance is empty and thoroughly dry to prevent damage.
- Before first use, charge the battery for at least 5 hours.
- Ensure the appliance is switched OFF.
- Fig. B: Plug the jack plug (9) of the jack plug charger (8) into the charging port (7) of the vacuum.
- Plug the charger into a standard 120 Volt 60 Hz electrical outlet.
NOTE: The charger may become warm during charging; this is normal. The appliance can remain connected to the charger indefinitely.
[WARNING]: Do not charge the battery at ambient temperatures below 39°F (4°C) or above 104°F (40°C).
Charging Indicator LED
While charging, the white LEDs on the charger (8) will flash and increase in sections. When charging is complete, the white LEDs will turn off.
Switching On (Fig. C)
- To turn the appliance ON, press the On/Off switch (1).
- Press the On/Off switch (1) again to engage boost mode.
- Press the On/Off switch (1) to turn the vacuum OFF.
State of Charge Indicator
The appliance features a state of charge indicator (2) with three white LED lights (10) that show the remaining battery charge. This feature is active only when the vacuum is powered on.
The LED battery indicator displays the remaining charge and warns when the battery is low. The final LED will flash continuously when only 1 minute of runtime remains. All LEDs will flash when the unit is discharged.
NOTE: The state of charge indicator is an approximate indication of battery charge and does not reflect tool functionality. It may vary based on product components, temperature, and user application.
Extendable Crevice Tool
- To extend the crevice tool (4), pull it from the vacuum nozzle (3) until it clicks into place.
- To collapse the crevice tool (4), push it into the vacuum nozzle (3) until it clicks into place.
Dry Pick Up
For everyday spills of dry material. Do not fill the dust bowl (5) beyond the end of the filter.
Optimizing Suction Force
To maintain optimal suction force, filters must be cleaned regularly during use.
Maintenance & Cleaning
Emptying and Cleaning the Product
[WARNING]: The filter is reusable and should be cleaned regularly.
- Hold the dust bowl over a trash can and press the dust bowl release button (6) to open the dust bowl access door (11) (Fig. E).
- While holding the dust bowl over the trash can, lightly shake to empty the dust bowl (5).
- Lift the pre-filter (12) out of the dust bowl (5) (Fig. F).
- Lift the filter (13) out of the dust bowl (5).
- Empty the dust bowl (5).
- Install the filter (13) into the dust bowl (5), then install the pre-filter (12) into the dust bowl (5).
- Close the dust bowl access door (11) until it clicks firmly into place.
[WARNING]: Never use the appliance without filters. Optimum dust collection requires a clean filter.
Cleaning the Dust Bowl and Filter
The pre-filter (12) and filter (13) can be washed in warm, soapy water. The dust bowl (5) can be wiped clean with a dry cloth.
- Ensure the filter (13), pre-filter (12), and dust bowl (5) are dry before reinstalling.
Replacing the Filters
Filters should be replaced every 6 to 9 months, or when worn or damaged. Replacement filters are available from BLACK+DECKER dealers. Visit www.blackanddecker.com to find dealers.
- Remove old filters as described in "Cleaning the Filters".
- Install new filters as described in "Cleaning the Filters".
- (Cat. no: HHVKF10) These fit all units. Dispose of used filters at a local recycling center.
Maintenance
Use only mild soap and a damp cloth to clean the vacuum. Never allow liquid inside the vacuum or immerse any part of it in liquid.
[WARNING]: Ensure the vacuum is completely dry before use.
Troubleshooting
If the product does not work, check the following:
- Charger was correctly plugged in (may feel slightly warm).
- Charger cord is not damaged and is correctly attached.
- Charger is plugged into a working electrical outlet.

The RBRC® Seal on batteries indicates that BLACK+DECKER has paid for the recycling costs of these batteries at the end of their useful life. The Call 2 Recycle® program offers an environmentally conscious alternative for disposing of batteries, as it is illegal in some areas to place them in municipal waste.
Two-Year Limited Warranty
Black & Decker (U.S.) Inc. warrants this product against defects in material or workmanship for two (2) years from the date of purchase, provided it is used in a home environment. This warranty does not cover failures due to abuse, accidental damage, or unauthorized repairs. Defective products meeting warranty conditions will be replaced or repaired at no charge. For warranty service, return the product to the retailer or send it (prepaid) to an authorized BLACK+DECKER Service Center. Proof of purchase may be required. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, which may vary by state. This product is not intended for commercial use, which will void the warranty. All other guarantees, express or implied, are disclaimed.
