FAQs

I have no picture

Check power, HDMI connection to DVR and TV, and ensure the TV/monitor is set to the correct input channel.

I have no power

Ensure the power adaptor is connected to the DVR and plugged into a live socket.

Why are some camera images discoloured?

Cameras have a night vision filter that may affect colour. Try adjusting colour settings in the display menu.

My night vision image is very dark or just a black screen

Cameras work up to 24m in the dark. If the image is dark, the target may be too far away. Aim closer or downwards.

My night vision image is very bright and I can't see anything when aimed out a window

Infrared light may be bouncing off the window. Place the camera on the other side of the window or ensure its face is flush with the glass.

Motion Detection settings keep recording all night long

Night vision relies on ambient light. If there are too many artefacts and motion recording is triggered excessively, adjust sensitivity settings in the 'Alarm Area Menu' (see page 21).

Where do I place my cameras?

Placement depends on application. For homes: near doorways, under eaves, in backyards, or children's rooms. For businesses: high traffic areas, over cash registers, or down aisles.

Can I add more cameras?

The DVR accepts up to 8 cameras. You can replace existing cameras, but cannot add more channels.

What is a PTZ camera?

PTZ (Pan/Tilt/Zoom) cameras allow remote aiming and zooming. The DVR has built-in functions to control PTZ features via the RS485 Port.

My hard drive is full

Format the hard drive or enable the 'Overwrite' feature to automatically overwrite the oldest footage. Motion detection also saves space.

Can I add a bigger hard drive?

Yes, the DVR supports HDDs up to 4TB. Consult a professional if unfamiliar with hard drive installation. Ensure power is off before opening the casing.

How long will my DVR record?

Recording duration varies by settings (up to 90 days on lowest, approx. 3.5 days on highest). Motion detection is recommended to extend recording time.

We have changed the password but do not remember what it is

Contact Winplus Technical Support at 1300 663 907 for assistance.

How can I share security footage with others?

Refer to page 27 for viewing footage on a computer or sending AVI files.
