Cleaning
NOTE: Clean the appliance regularly to keep it in a safe and hygienic working condition.
- Before cleaning, unplug the appliance and let it cool down completely.
- Do not clean the appliance with steel wool, strong chemicals, alkali, abrasive or disinfecting agents as they may damage its surface.
- Do not immerse the motor unit or the grinder in water or other liquids to clean them. Make sure that no water enters the motor unit while cleaning it and that the electrical parts do not become wet or damp.
- Never clean the motor unit or the grinder in the dishwasher.
- Clean the motor unit with a soft damp cloth and a little mild detergent. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
- Regularly clean the grinder to ensure food hygiene and extend the service life of the appliance. Proceed as follows:
- 1. To disassemble the upper grinder, hold its handle and turn it counter-clockwise so that the triangle symbol is aligned with the "UNLOCK" marking, then lift the upper grinder up.
- 2. Clean the upper grinder with the included cleaning brush.
- 3. Remove the remaining coffee powder in the lower grinder and grinding chamber with the cleaning brush, and then pour out the remaining powder residue in the grinding chamber. This step must not be omitted, since otherwise the upper grinder cannot be installed anymore later.
- 4. After cleaning, put the upper grinder into the grinding chamber, align the triangle symbol with "UNLOCK" and turn the handle clockwise so that the triangle symbol is aligned with "LOCK" and the upper grinder locks into place.
- Clean all parts besides the motor unit and the grinder in warm water with a soft sponge and mild detergent. Wipe with a dry and soft cloth.
- ATTENTION: Do not clean in the dishwasher. As this shortens the service life (printing on the bean box and the storage container, portafilter holder becomes discolored). This does not constitute grounds for complaint.
- The appliance may only be used again after it is dried completely.
Storage
- Before storage, always make sure that the appliance is completely dry, cooled down and clean.
- Store the appliance in a cool, dry place, protected from moisture and out of the reach of children.
