Safety Instructions
Read these instructions carefully before first use. Keep them for future reference. Always follow general safety regulations and accident prevention guidelines.
Hazard Levels
- DANGER: Imminent threat of severe injury or death.
- WARNING: Potentially dangerous situation, may lead to severe injury or death.
- CAUTION: Potentially dangerous situation, may lead to minor injuries.
- ATTENTION: Potentially dangerous situation, may lead to property damage.
Protective Gear
CAUTION: Wear suitable protective clothing and safety goggles. Inhaling aerosols can be harmful. Use fully shielded nozzles or respiratory masks (e.g., FFP 2) if necessary.
General Safety Instructions
- DANGER: Risk of asphyxiation. Keep packaging film away from children.
- WARNING: Use only for intended purpose. Be aware of third parties, especially children. Not for use by persons with reduced capabilities unless supervised. Children must not operate the device and must be supervised.
- CAUTION: Do not modify or bypass safety devices.
Risk of Electric Shock
- DANGER: Connect only to properly earthed power sources. Use only alternating current matching the device's voltage. Operate via a fault current protection switch (max. 30 mA). Keep plugs and sockets dry. Ensure extension cable couplings are watertight and elevated from the floor. Protect live parts from water jets.
- WARNING: Ensure electrical connections are made by a qualified electrician (IEC 60364-1). Check cables for damage before each use; replace if damaged. Protect cables from heat, oil, and sharp edges. Use only approved extension cables with adequate cross-section (1.5 mm² for 1-10m, 2.5 mm² for 10-30m).
- CAUTION: Fully unwind extension cables. Switch off and unplug the device during breaks longer than 5 minutes and after use.
Operation
- DANGER: Do not operate in explosive atmospheres. Do not suction solvents, acids, or flammable liquids. Spray mist is flammable, explosive, and poisonous. Be cautious with damaged tires/valves; keep a minimum spray distance of 30 cm.
- WARNING: Do not use if people without protective clothing are nearby. Do not aim the jet at yourself, persons, animals, or live electrical equipment. Do not spray objects containing harmful substances (e.g., asbestos). Check device and accessories for damage before each use; replace damaged parts immediately. Use only manufacturer-specified hoses and couplings. Risk of scalding from hot water leaks after operation.
- CAUTION: Use a system separator (EN 12729 type BA) when connecting to the house water system. Water passing through a separator is not drinkable. Never leave the device unsupervised. Maintain a firm footing and grip the gun and lance firmly due to recoil force. Ensure the device is stable before any action.
- ATTENTION: Do not operate below 0°C.
Operation with Detergent
- WARNING: Incorrect detergent use can cause serious injury or poisoning.
- CAUTION: Keep detergents away from children. Use only Kärcher-specified detergents.
Care and Service
- WARNING: Always unplug the device before maintenance.
- CAUTION: Have repairs performed by authorized customer service only.
- ATTENTION: Do not use acetone, undiluted acids, or solvents as they can corrode materials.
Transportation
- CAUTION: Be aware of the device's weight to prevent injury and damage during transport.
Storage
- CAUTION: Be aware of the device's weight to prevent injury and damage during storage.
- Storing the device: Place on a level surface. Disconnect spray lance and hose. Store hose and cable on the device, securing them with the rubber band. Store in a frost-protected room.
- Frost Protection: Completely empty the device and accessories. To protect from frost, disconnect from water, remove hose, switch on for max 1 minute until no water escapes, switch off, and store in a frost-protected room.
Environmental Protection
Recycle packaging materials. Electrical and electronic appliances contain valuable materials; dispose of them responsibly, not with household waste. Cleaning involving oily wastewater (e.g., engine washing) must be done at stations with an oil separator. Work with detergents only on watertight surfaces connected to wastewater systems. Prevent detergent from entering waterways or soil. Extraction from public waterways may be restricted.

Water Supply
Observe type plate/technical data and local water regulations. ATTENTION: Contaminated water can damage the pump and accessories. Kärcher recommends using the Kärcher water filter (order no. 4.730-059).
Connection to the Water Line
ATTENTION: Never use a hose coupling with Aquastop on the device's water connection. You can use one on the tap. Plug the garden hose onto the water connection coupling and connect to the water line. Open the tap fully (Illustration F).
Sucking Water from Open Containers
The device can suck water from open containers (e.g., rain barrels) using the Kärcher suction hose with check valve (order no. 2.643-100). Fill the suction hose with water, screw it onto the device, and place it in the water source (Illustration F).
Vent the Device
- Switch the device ON ("I/ON").
- Unlock the high-pressure gun lever.
- Press the lever. The device turns on.
- Allow the device to run for up to 2 minutes until water exits without air bubbles.
- Release the lever.
- Lock the lever.
Operation
Pump Running Dry
ATTENTION: If no pressure builds up after 2 minutes, switch off the device and consult the troubleshooting guide.
High-Pressure Operation
ATTENTION: Avoid damage to painted or sensitive surfaces by maintaining an adequate distance (min. 30 cm) and using the correct spray lance. Do not use the dirt grinder on car tires, paint, or sensitive surfaces like wood.
- Insert spray lance into the high-pressure gun and lock by turning 90° (Illustration G).
- Switch the device ON ("I/ON").
- Unlock the high-pressure gun lever.
- Press the lever. The device turns on.

Detergent is mixed into the jet only at low pressure. Kärcher detergents ensure fault-free operation.
- Pull out the detergent suction hose (Illustration H).
- Place the hose end into the detergent solution.
- Use the Click-Vario Power spray lance and turn it to "MIX". The detergent is mixed with the water jet.
Recommended Cleaning Method
- Spray detergent sparingly on a dry surface and let it work (do not let it dry).
- Rinse off loosened dirt with the high-pressure jet.
After operation with detergent: Flush the device with clear water for approx. 30 seconds.
Interrupting Operation
- Release the high-pressure gun lever (device switches off, pressure retained).
- Lock the lever.
- Store the gun in its compartment.
- Place gun and lance in parking position.
- Switch off the device ("0/OFF") for breaks longer than 5 minutes.

- Pulling: Extend transport handle until it clicks, then pull the device.
- Transporting in a vehicle: Secure against slipping and tipping.
Troubleshooting Guide
Refer to the following for common issues:
- Device not running: Check plug, cable, voltage. If motor is overloaded, switch off, let cool for 1 hour, then switch on. Contact Customer Service if issue persists.
- Device does not start, motor buzzes: May be due to voltage drop. Try switching on the gun lever first, then the device.
- Device does not reach required pressure: Check water supply volume and ensure the water inlet sieve is clean. Vent the device if air is present.
- Strong pressure fluctuations: Clean the high-pressure nozzle. Check water supply.
- Device leaking: Minor leaks may be normal; request service for severe leaks.
- Detergent not sucked in: Ensure Click-Vario Power lance is set to "MIX", clean detergent filter, and check suction hose for kinks.
