Environmental Protection

Recycle packaging materials. Electrical and electronic appliances contain valuable materials; dispose of them responsibly, not with household waste. Cleaning involving oily wastewater (e.g., engine washing) must be done at stations with an oil separator. Work with detergents only on watertight surfaces connected to wastewater systems. Prevent detergent from entering waterways or soil. Extraction from public waterways may be restricted.

Safety Devices

Symbols on the Device

Assembly

Attach supplied parts before initial startup.

Initial Startup

  1. Place the device on a flat, level surface.
  2. Connect the high-pressure hose to the device's quick coupling until it latches (Illustration D).
  3. Connect the high-pressure hose to the high-pressure gun until it latches (Illustration E). Ensure correct alignment.
  4. Check hose connection security by pulling.
  5. Plug the mains plug into a socket.

Water Supply

Observe type plate/technical data and local water regulations. ATTENTION: Contaminated water can damage the pump and accessories. Kärcher recommends using the Kärcher water filter (order no. 4.730-059).

Connection to the Water Line

ATTENTION: Never use a hose coupling with Aquastop on the device's water connection. You can use one on the tap. Plug the garden hose onto the water connection coupling and connect to the water line. Open the tap fully (Illustration F).

Sucking Water from Open Containers

The device can suck water from open containers (e.g., rain barrels) using the Kärcher suction hose with check valve (order no. 2.643-100). Fill the suction hose with water, screw it onto the device, and place it in the water source (Illustration F).

Vent the Device

  1. Switch the device ON ("I/ON").
  2. Unlock the high-pressure gun lever.
  3. Press the lever. The device turns on.
  4. Allow the device to run for up to 2 minutes until water exits without air bubbles.
  5. Release the lever.
  6. Lock the lever.

Operation

Pump Running Dry

ATTENTION: If no pressure builds up after 2 minutes, switch off the device and consult the troubleshooting guide.

High-Pressure Operation

ATTENTION: Avoid damage to painted or sensitive surfaces by maintaining an adequate distance (min. 30 cm) and using the correct spray lance. Do not use the dirt grinder on car tires, paint, or sensitive surfaces like wood.

  1. Insert spray lance into the high-pressure gun and lock by turning 90° (Illustration G).
  2. Switch the device ON ("I/ON").
  3. Unlock the high-pressure gun lever.
  4. Press the lever. The device turns on.

Operation with Detergent

DANGER: Follow detergent safety data sheets. Incorrect handling can cause serious health damage.

Detergent is mixed into the jet only at low pressure. Kärcher detergents ensure fault-free operation.

  1. Pull out the detergent suction hose (Illustration H).
  2. Place the hose end into the detergent solution.
  3. Use the Click-Vario Power spray lance and turn it to "MIX". The detergent is mixed with the water jet.

Recommended Cleaning Method

  1. Spray detergent sparingly on a dry surface and let it work (do not let it dry).
  2. Rinse off loosened dirt with the high-pressure jet.

After operation with detergent: Flush the device with clear water for approx. 30 seconds.

Interrupting Operation

  1. Release the high-pressure gun lever (device switches off, pressure retained).
  2. Lock the lever.
  3. Store the gun in its compartment.
  4. Place gun and lance in parking position.
  5. Switch off the device ("0/OFF") for breaks longer than 5 minutes.

Ending Operation

  1. Release the gun lever.
  2. Close the water tap.
  3. Press the gun lever for 30 seconds to discharge system pressure.
  4. Release the lever.
  5. Lock the lever.
  6. Disconnect from water supply.
  7. Switch off the device ("0/OFF").
  8. Unplug the mains plug.
