Operating Instructions
General Precautions
- Read this manual carefully before use.
- Ensure batteries are correctly installed.
- Do not measure voltage higher than 600V.
- Always connect the common (black) test lead to the COM terminal.
- When measuring voltage, connect the red test lead to the VΩmA terminal.
- When measuring current, connect the red test lead to the appropriate current terminal (mA or A).
- Avoid touching the metal tips of the test leads during measurement.
- Ensure the test leads are in good condition.
Measuring DC Voltage
- Turn the dial to the DC Voltage range (VDC).
- Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and the red test lead to the VΩmA terminal.
- Connect the test leads to the circuit to be measured. The multimeter will automatically select the appropriate range.
- Read the voltage value on the display.
Measuring AC Voltage
- Turn the dial to the AC Voltage range (VAC).
- Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and the red test lead to the VΩmA terminal.
- Connect the test leads to the circuit to be measured. The multimeter will automatically select the appropriate range.
- Read the voltage value on the display.
Measuring Resistance
- Turn the dial to the Resistance range (Ω).
- Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and the red test lead to the VΩmA terminal.
- Connect the test leads to the component to be measured. Ensure the circuit is de-energized.
- Read the resistance value on the display.
Measuring Capacitance
- Turn the dial to the Capacitance range (F).
- Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and the red test lead to the VΩmA terminal.
- Connect the test leads to the capacitor to be measured. Ensure the capacitor is discharged.
- Read the capacitance value on the display.
Measuring Frequency
- Turn the dial to the Frequency range (Hz).
- Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and the red test lead to the VΩmA terminal.
- Connect the test leads to the signal source.
- Read the frequency value on the display.
Diode Test
- Turn the dial to the Diode symbol.
- Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and the red test lead to the VΩmA terminal.
- Connect the test leads to the diode. Observe the forward voltage drop on the display. A normal diode will show a voltage drop of 0.5V-0.8V.
On/Off Test (Continuity)
- Turn the dial to the Continuity symbol (sound wave icon).
- Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and the red test lead to the VΩmA terminal.
- Touch the test leads to the two ends of the circuit. If the resistance is less than approximately 30Ω, the multimeter will emit a beep sound.
NCV Test
- Turn the dial to the NCV position.
- Bring the NCV sensor near an AC voltage source. The closer the sensor is to the voltage source, the stronger the beep sound and the brighter the indicator light.
Safety Information
Caution:
- Always use test leads that are rated for the voltage being measured.
- Do not use the multimeter if the case or test leads are damaged.
- Do not measure current in parallel with a voltage source.
- Do not open the multimeter case to replace batteries or fuses unless the test leads are disconnected and the device is powered off.
- Avoid exposing the multimeter to extreme temperatures or humidity.
- When measuring high voltages, exercise extreme caution and maintain a safe distance.
Maintenance
- Keep the multimeter clean and dry.
- Replace batteries promptly when the low battery indicator appears.
- Store the multimeter in a cool, dry place when not in use.
Troubleshooting
- No display: Check battery installation and ensure the multimeter is powered on.
- Inaccurate readings: Ensure test leads are properly connected and the range is set correctly. Check battery level.
- No beep sound during continuity test: Ensure the circuit is closed and the resistance is below the threshold.
