ANENG A3005 Digital Multimeter Pen User Manual
This document provides instructions and specifications for the ANENG A3005 digital multimeter pen.
Basic Introduction
The ANENG A3005 is a 3 3/4 digit True RMS auto-scanning digital multimeter pen. It features automatic function selection for voltage and resistance measurements, eliminating the need to manually turn a dial. It offers stable performance, high accuracy, high reliability, clear readings, and overload protection. Powered by a single AAA 1.5V battery, it boasts a large LCD display with a clear backlight for easy viewing. This meter automatically identifies DC voltage, AC voltage, resistance, and continuity, in addition to manual selection for electric field induction, diode, and fire line discrimination. It is designed as an ideal tool for electronics hobbyists, electricians, and general household use.
Safety Requirements
This series of digital meters is designed and produced according to IEC1010 safety standards for electronic measuring instruments and portable current meters. It strictly conforms to double insulation, DC 600V CAT III, and pollution level 2 standards.
Precautions
- Always read the instructions carefully, paying special attention to "warning" content.
- Before use, inspect the instrument and test leads for any damage or abnormal phenomena.
- When measuring, do not touch unused input terminals.
- Do not measure voltages exceeding the instrument's rated limits.
- Avoid exposing the device to direct sunlight, high temperatures, or humidity.
- If the instrument crashes during use, simply power it off and restart.
- Use only a damp cloth and a small amount of detergent to clean the meter; do not use other compatible chemical products to wipe the casing.
- If any anomaly is observed, the instrument should be immediately stopped and sent for maintenance.
- Control and repair should only be performed by qualified personnel.

DC Voltage Test
- Press and hold the " (0) " button for more than 2 seconds to turn on the instrument; it will display "Huto".
- Insert the black test pen into the COM jack.
- Connect the instrument's probe tip and the black test pen to the power source or load to be tested. The polarity of the probe will be displayed on the screen.
- Read the measurement result on the monitor. If the " ~ " symbol is displayed to the right of the monitor, DC voltage is being measured.
Do not input a voltage higher than 600 V. Inputting a voltage higher than this may display a higher voltage and risk damage to the meter's internal circuitry.
Do not touch the probe tip or the metallic part of the test pen when measuring high voltage to avoid electric shock.
AC Voltage Test
- Press and hold the " (0) " button for more than 2 seconds to turn on the instrument; it will display "ut".
- Insert the black test pen into the COM jack.
- Connect the instrument's probe tip and the black test pen to the power source or load to be tested. The polarity of the probe will be displayed on the screen.
- Read the measurement result on the monitor. If the " @9 " symbol is displayed to the right of the monitor, AC voltage is being measured.
Do not input a voltage higher than 600 V. Inputting a voltage higher than this may display a higher voltage and risk damage to the meter's internal circuitry.
Do not touch the probe tip or the metallic part of the test pen when measuring high voltage to avoid electric shock.
Resistance Test
- Press and hold the " (0) " button for more than 2 seconds to turn on the instrument; it will display "ut".
- Insert the black test pen into the COM jack.
- Connect the instrument's probe tip and the black test pen to the power source or load to be tested. The polarity of the probe will be displayed on the screen.
- Read the measurement result on the monitor. If the " ~ " symbol is displayed to the right of the monitor, resistance is being measured.
If the measured resistance exceeds the maximum range value, the screen will display "OL".
When checking resistance in a live circuit, all power to the line under test must be turned off, and all capacitors must be completely discharged.
Continuity Test (Circuit On/Off Test)
- Press the " (o) " button for more than 2 seconds to start the system.
- Insert the black test pen into the COM jack.
- Connect the instrument's probe tip and the black test pen to two points in the circuit. If the resistance between the two points is less than approximately 50 Ω, the built-in buzzer will sound, indicating that the two points are connected. An "m" symbol will appear on the right side.
When the circuit is on, an "m" symbol will appear on the right side.
Diode Test
- Press " () " for more than 2 seconds. The instrument will display "Hut".
- Briefly press this meter's button to test the diode. "OL v" will appear.
- Insert the black test pen into the COM jack.
- Connect the instrument's probe tip to the positive electrode of the diode and the black test pen to the negative electrode. The instrument will display the forward voltage drop of the diode (unit: V). "OL" is displayed when the diode is reversed.
NCV (Non-Contact Voltage) Test
- Press and hold the " Co " button for more than 2 seconds to turn on the instrument; it will display "Hut".
- Insert the black test pen into the COM jack.
- Press the button to select the NCV mode. On the display screen, "EF" will be shown.
- Place the instrument's probe tip approximately 8 ~ 15 mm from the object to be measured for induction detection. The simulated induced AC voltage is indicated by the buzzer rhythms and the red indicator light, distinguishing the intensity of the induced electric field.
- If the critical voltage is 100 V, "EF" is displayed; if the critical voltage is < 100V, "-" is displayed in the cross-section. There are four sections "- - - -" indicating different voltage levels.
When changing NCV measurement mode, please disconnect the black test pen to avoid electric shock.
Live Wire Detection
- Press and hold the " "" " button for more than 2 seconds to turn on the instrument; it will display "ut".
- Press the " @ " button to select LIVE measurement. "LIVE" will be displayed on the right side of the screen.
- When the instrument's probe tip is connected to the live wire, the buzzer will emit a ticking sound, and the red LED indicator will light up, and the LCD screen will display "--H". If the pen is connected to the neutral wire, the buzzer will not sound, and the LCD screen will display "LIVE".
Do not touch the metallic part of the test pen during measurement to avoid the risk of electric shock.
Data Hold
During measurement, briefly press the " TROU PRISE J " button to activate or deactivate data hold.
Backlight
Press and hold the " bouton > 2 secondes " button to turn the backlight on or off.
Flashlight
Press and hold the " 't -J" bouton > 2 secondes " button to turn the flashlight on or off.
Auto Power Off
If there is no operation for 15 minutes, the meter will automatically shut down to conserve battery power.
