1. Setting Up the Camera & Handheld Screen

Keep this instruction manual for future reference. Please read the following instructions and warnings carefully.

Powering On the Nursery Camera & Parent Handheld

1. Press and hold the camera [Power Button] for 3 seconds. A small green indicator light will appear above the lens.

2. Press and hold the handheld [Power Button] for 3 seconds. The handheld will automatically sync with the camera.

Note: The handheld unit and the camera are synced at the factory for privacy reasons. If they are not synced, refer to the "Adding a Camera" section.

Congratulations! You are now ready to use your Baby Pixel® Zoom HD™ Digital Color Video Monitor!

Charging the Handheld

Charge for 7 hours before first use. After the initial charge, recharge when necessary for 7 hours. Charging overnight is recommended.

Note: While powered off, the handheld does not show a charging indicator. An LED will light up for 5 seconds to confirm charging, then shut off.

[Battery Icon] Charge for 7 hours.

Install the Nursery Camera

Note: For best picture focus, place the camera 6 to 8 ft. (approx. 1.8 to 2.4m) from the crib.

1. Plug in the nursery camera [Plug Icon].

2. Place the camera on a flat surface, such as a dresser or shelf.

3. Alternatively, mount the camera on a wall using the provided screw and wall anchor.

Secure the Camera Cord

STRANGULATION HAZARD: Children have strangled in cords. Keep this cord out of the reach of children (more than 3 ft. (0.9m) away in all directions).

NEVER place the camera or cords within 3-feet of the crib. Secure the cord to your wall using the 6 included [Security Clip]s to keep the cord away from baby's reach.

Menu Options

Press the [Menu/Select Button] to access menu options. Use the [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] buttons to highlight menu items. Press [Menu/Select Button] to confirm. The menu also exits after 8 seconds of inactivity or by tapping the [Power Button] once.

Available Menus: VOX Menu, SleepZone® Menu, Camera Menu, Settings Menu, Lullabies/ White Noise Menu.

3. Adjusting the Handheld Settings

Improve Reception

Flip up the [Antenna] to improve reception.

Handheld Screen Brightness

1. Press [Menu/Select Button]. 2. Press [Right Arrow] to highlight the Settings icon. 3. Press [Menu/Select Button]. 4. Press [Right Arrow] to highlight the brightness icon. 5. Press [Menu/Select Button]. 6. Use [Right Arrow] / [Left Arrow] buttons to adjust brightness. 7. Press [Menu/Select Button] to confirm.

Volume

Press the [Volume Button] to increase/decrease sound level.

Temperature Display

1. Press [Menu/Select Button]. 2. Press [Right Arrow] to highlight Settings icon. 3. Press [Menu/Select Button]. 4. Press [Right Arrow] to highlight the Temperature icon. 5. Press [Menu/Select Button]. 6. Press [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] to select °F or °C. 7. Press [Menu/Select Button] to confirm and exit temperature settings.

Clock

1. Press [Menu/Select Button]. 2. Press [Right Arrow] to highlight Settings icon. 3. Press [Menu/Select Button]. 4. Press [Right Arrow] to highlight the Clock icon. 5. Press [Menu/Select Button]. 6. Use [Left Arrow]/[Right Arrow]/[Up Arrow]/[Down Arrow] buttons to adjust time. 7. Press [Menu/Select Button] to confirm.

SleepZone® Virtual Boundary Box

The SleepZone® feature creates a virtual boundary box on your screen. It alerts you with a sound on your handheld if the baby crosses the boundary or an object enters the set area.

1. To activate, press the [SleepZone Button] (defaults to a set area).

2. To adjust the baby boundary area, press and hold the [SleepZone Button] for 3 seconds.

3. Use the [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] buttons to adjust the size of the SleepZone®. There are two box size options.

4. Use the [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] buttons to adjust the SleepZone® ALARM volume. Press [Menu/Select Button] to confirm.

Note: All buttons except SleepZone®, Power, and Menu/Select become inactive. To shut off SleepZone®, press the SleepZone® or Menu/Select button. SleepZone® can only be used with one camera at a time.

You can also access SleepZone® via the MENU: 1. Press [Menu/Select Button]. 2. Press [Right Arrow] to highlight SleepZone®, then press [Menu/Select Button]. To extend battery life, plug in the handheld while using SleepZone®.

4. Viewing Your Baby

Remote Camera Steering

Remotely control the camera angle from the handheld. Use the [Up Arrow]/[Down Arrow]/[Left Arrow]/[Right Arrow] buttons to move the camera angle up, down, and side to side.

Digital Zoom

1. Press the [Zoom Button] to zoom in. A zoom icon will appear briefly in the screen's bottom right corner, then at the top of the screen. There are 6 levels of zoom.

2. Adjust the camera view with the [Up Arrow]/[Down Arrow]/[Left Arrow]/[Right Arrow] buttons. Use the [Zoom Button] to zoom closer. Press [Menu/Select Button] to confirm.

5. Hearing & Soothing Your Baby

Video On/Off Power Save Mode

This feature conserves battery life by turning off the screen when the handheld is not plugged in (after 2 minutes, or 30 seconds if VOX or SleepZone® is on).

1. To turn VIDEO OFF and conserve battery power, press the [Power/Video Button]. The screen will go dark. The audio feature remains active.

2. To turn VIDEO ON, press the [Power/Video Button].

If VOX feature is on, video turns on automatically when sound is detected.

Voice-Activated Screen Wake-up (VOX)

The VOX feature turns on your screen when it's in power save mode and the camera detects sound.

1. Press [Menu/Select Button] to enter the menu. 2. Use [Left Arrow] to highlight the VOX icon and press [Menu/Select Button]. 3. Press [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] buttons to select VOX ON or VOX OFF. 4. Press [Menu/Select Button] to confirm. The VOX icon will appear at the top of the screen.

Note: When VOX is on, it is temporarily suspended when lullabies/white noise are in use. VOX reactivates when lullabies/white noise turn off.

Sound-Activated Lights

The LED light bar on the side of the handheld lights up as it picks up noises, even in power save mode. (When the battery is low, the first LED flashes red and the handheld beeps.)

Talk-back to Baby

Reassure and soothe your baby with your voice by pressing a button.

1. Press and hold the [Talk-Back Button] to talk to your baby. The talk-back icon will appear briefly in the screen's bottom right corner.

2. Release the button to end talk-back mode.

Lullabies and White Noise

1. Press [Menu/Select Button] to enter the menu. 2. Press [Right Arrow] to highlight the Lullabies and White Noise icon. 3. Press [Menu/Select Button]. 4. Press [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] buttons to select a different lullaby or white noise. Press [Menu/Select Button].

A lullaby/white noise will play. The lullaby icon will appear at the top of the screen. The selected sound remains active until a different selection is made.

Lullabies/white noise can be turned on/off by pressing the button on the back of the camera. Note: Lullabies/white noise turn off automatically after 20 minutes. They can also be turned off via the menu: navigate to the lullabies/white noise menu, press [Right Arrow] to select the 'No Sound' icon, then press [Menu Button].

6. Adding and Viewing Cameras

Moonlite® Night Vision Boost

The Moonlite® Night Vision Boost feature provides temporary enhanced viewing in dark rooms.

1. Press and hold the [Moonlite Button] to illuminate a small LED light on the camera. A [Moonlite Icon] will appear in the lower right-hand corner of the screen while the button is pressed.

2. When you release the button, the camera returns to normal black & white night vision. Depending on camera placement, Moonlite® brightness can be adjusted.

Moonlite® automatically turns off after seven seconds. Caution: Do not stare directly at the Moonlite® LED for prolonged periods.

Moonlite® Brightness Adjustment

1. Press [Menu Button]. 2. Press [Right Arrow] to highlight Settings icon. 3. Press [Menu/Select Button]. 4. Press [Right Arrow] to highlight the Moonlite® icon. 5. Press [Menu/Select Button]. 6. Press [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] buttons to adjust Moonlite® brightness. 7. Press [Menu/Select Button] to exit.

Camera Options Menu

1. Press [Menu/Select Button]. Camera Options will be highlighted. 2. Press [Menu/Select Button] to confirm. Four icons appear: View Cam, Scan, Add Cam, Delete Cam.

Note: If only one camera is synced, VIEW CAM and SCAN are grayed out.

Adding a Camera

Your monitor supports up to 4 cameras total. Select one to view, or use auto-scan.

1. Plug in the camera. A solid green light above the lens indicates power. If not, press and hold the [Power Button] for 3 seconds.

2. On the handheld, press [Menu/Select Button] twice to open Camera Options.

3. Press [Right Arrow] to highlight Add Camera icon. 4. Press [Menu/Select Button].

5. Press [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] buttons to highlight the desired camera. A syncing icon will appear next to the camera number.

Adding a Camera (continued): If sync is successful, video appears with a blue ring around the camera icon. If unsuccessful, a camera icon with an 'X' appears. Repeat sync steps, ensuring camera and handheld are close together.

Deleting a Camera

1. Press [Menu/Select Button] twice for Camera Options. 2. Use [Right Arrow] to highlight Delete Camera icon. 3. Press [Menu/Select Button]. 4. Use [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] to highlight the camera to delete. 5. Press [Menu/Select Button] to delete. The camera icon turns gray when disconnected.

Selecting a Camera

1. Press [Menu/Select Button] twice for Camera Options. 2. Use [Right Arrow] to highlight Select Camera icon. 3. Press [Menu/Select Button].

4. Use [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] to highlight the desired camera. Synced cameras appear in blue; the current viewing camera is outlined.

5. Press [Menu/Select Button]. Video from the selected camera appears. The camera number icon briefly shows in the screen's lower right corner, and the icon at the top changes.

Note: SleepZone® deactivates when selecting a different camera or using Scan Mode.

Scanning Cameras

Scan Mode cycles through each active camera every 10 seconds. (Only available if more than one camera is synced.)

1. Press [Menu/Select Button] twice for Camera Options. 2. Use [Right Arrow] to highlight Scan Cameras icon. 3. Press [Menu/Select Button].

The scan status bar appears on the right. A red icon indicates lost signal. The camera number icon changes to show the current view. Press any button to stop scanning.

7. Important Information

FCC Information

This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to two conditions: (1) it may not cause harmful interference, and (2) it must accept any interference received. Changes not expressly approved by Summer Infant may void user authority. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and may cause harmful interference to radio communications if not installed and used per instructions. If interference occurs, try correcting it by reorienting the receiver, increasing separation, connecting to a different circuit, or consulting a dealer/technician.

CAUTION: To comply with FCC RF exposure requirements, maintain at least 7.9 in. (20 cm) separation between the antenna and all persons. This transmitter must not be co-located or operating with any other antenna or transmitter.

Summer Infant Monitor Warranty Policy

Summer Infant will repair or replace (at their option) the unit free of charge for 12 months from the date of purchase if defective in workmanship or materials. Proof of purchase is required. Without a receipt, warranty is 12 months from the date of manufacture. This warranty does not cover normal wear, misuse, abuse, improper storage/handling, installation, accidents, or unauthorized repair/alteration.
