Product Overview
The ACCUJECT 3.0-1P injector set is designed for the safe and efficient implantation of intraocular lenses (IOLs). This document provides handling instructions for the ACCUJECT 3.0-1P injector set, specifically detailing its compatibility and usage with ZEISS CT SPHERIS 204 and ZEISS CT ASPHINA 404 high diopter range IOLs.
Image Description: The ACCUJECT 3.0-1P injector set is a clear plastic, syringe-like medical device with a plunger and a specialized cartridge tip. It is designed for precise delivery of intraocular lenses during ophthalmic surgery.
Compatibility
The ACCUJECT 3.0-1P injector set is compatible with:
- ZEISS CT SPHERIS® 204 IOLs with diopter ranges from +31.0 D to +45.0 D.
- ZEISS CT ASPHINA® 404 IOLs with diopter ranges from +31.0 D to +42.0 D.
Handling Instructions
Follow these steps carefully for the proper use of the ACCUJECT 3.0-1P injector set:
-
Step 1: Inject OVD
Inject the Ophthalmic Viscosurgical Device (OVD) into the cartridge tip and along the internal channels of the injector.
[Diagram Description: A close-up shows a syringe injecting a clear substance into the injector cartridge tip and channels.]
-
Step 2: Place IOL
Place the IOL in the center of the open cartridge. Use sterile forceps to gently push down on the edges of the IOL's optic and haptics, ensuring they are positioned correctly under the ledges of the cartridge.
[Diagram Description: A close-up shows an IOL being placed in an open cartridge, with forceps used to position the optic and haptics under cartridge ledges.]
-
Step 3: Close Cartridge
Maintain the IOL in its position using folding forceps while closing the cartridge. Ensure that the haptics do not slip out from the cartridge grooves between the wings.
[Diagram Description: A close-up shows the IOL held in place by forceps while the injector cartridge is being closed, with attention to haptic placement.]
-
Step 4: Advance Plunger
Advance the plunger until it begins to move the IOL forward. Confirm that the plunger is moving freely within the injector.
[Diagram Description: A close-up shows the injector plunger being advanced, initiating forward movement of the IOL within the cartridge.]
-
Step 5: Control Release
To control the release of the IOL from the tip, slow down the movement of the plunger when the optic portion of the lens reaches the beveled end of the tip.
[Diagram Description: A close-up shows the plunger movement being slowed as the IOL optic approaches the beveled injector tip, controlling the release.]
