Philips LEDtube Installation Guide
This guide provides instructions for installing Philips LEDtubes in luminaires equipped with conventional electromagnetic ballasts (KVG/VVG).

Key symbols and their interpretations:
- 50/60Hz: Lamp suitable for 50Hz or 60Hz operation.

- [?] Dry Conditions: Need to be used in dry conditions or in a luminaire that provides protection.

Important Notes and Warnings
- No modifications to the luminaire are to be made, other than replacing the starter with the EMP starter.
- This lamp may not be suitable for all applications where traditional fluorescent lamps were used, as its temperature range is more restricted. Consult the manufacturer if unsure about suitability.
- The LEDtube is designed for general lighting service and is not suitable for explosive atmospheres.
- Always switch off the power supply before commencing any work.
- Philips LED tubes should be installed by qualified professionals in accordance with relevant codes.
- Stick the provided Warning Sticker on the luminaire after modifications are made.
- The LEDtube is not suitable for DC voltage.
- This lamp is not suitable for use with electronic ballasts (EVG).
- Ensure that required lighting levels are met after switching to LEDtube.
Installation Steps
Follow these steps carefully for luminaires with conventional electromagnetic ballasts (KVG/VVG):
- Turn off the power supply. [⚡️ OFF]
- Remove the existing fluorescent lamp. [?➡️]
- Remove the existing starter. [⚙️➡️]
- Insert the EMP replacement starter. [⚙️➡️?]
- Install the Philips LEDtube with the light opening facing downwards. [?⬇️]
- Turn on the power supply. [⚡️ ON]
Note: For luminaires with conventional electromagnetic ballasts (KVG/VVG), only the starter needs to be replaced. No other modifications to the luminaire are required.
For luminaires with electronic ballasts (EVG), this LEDtube is not compatible.
For luminaires with a capacitor installed in parallel with the ballast or in the same circuit: remove the capacitor if it is in parallel with the ballast, or short the capacitor if it is in the same circuit.
Alternatively, for some systems, a blanking plug may be installed instead of the starter.
Energy Efficiency Information
The Philips LEDtube is designed for energy efficiency. The energy efficiency class ranges from A++ to G, as indicated on the product packaging and labels.
Example: The product may be rated as Class C for energy efficiency.
