Philips LEDtube
Product Overview
Philips LEDtube offers an energy-saving, LED-based alternative to traditional fluorescent tubes. It is designed for use with G13 bases according to IEC standards.

Important Notes and Warnings
- This product is not valid in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
- No modifications to the luminaire are required, other than replacing the starter.
- This lamp may not be suitable for all applications where traditional fluorescent lamps were used, due to a more restricted temperature range. Consult the manufacturer if unsure about suitability.
- Designed for general lighting service (not for explosive atmospheres).
- Philips LED tubes should be installed by qualified professionals in accordance with relevant codes.
- Stick the Warning Sticker on the luminaire after modifications are made.
- The LEDtube is not dimmable.
- The LEDtube is not suitable for DC voltage.
- For luminaires with conventional electromagnetic ballasts (KVG/VVG) only. Not suitable for electronic ballasts (EVG).
- When switching to LEDtube, verify that required illuminance levels are met.
- The lamp must only be used in dry environments or in a luminaire approved for the application with appropriate IP protection.
- Important for fixtures with Electromagnetic Ballasts (EMPRA): If a capacitor is installed in the same electrical circuit as the ballast, it must be handled as follows: Remove the capacitor if it is installed in parallel with the ballast. Short-circuit the capacitor if it is in the same circuit.
Installation Steps
Always switch off the power supply before commencing work.
- Turn off the power supply.
- Remove the fluorescent lamp.
- Remove the existing starter.
- Install the EMP replacement starter.
- Install the Philips LEDtube with the light opening facing downwards.
- Turn on the power supply.
Energy Efficiency
The product features energy efficiency labels indicating classes from A++ to G. The LEDtube itself is rated within the higher efficiency categories, typically A+ or A.
