Image Adjustments

Function Description
Video Format Allows switching between NTSC and PAL video formats.
Resolution Sets the video resolution.
Backlight This menu allows selecting the backlight mode that best suits the environment where the camera is installed. Available options are BLC/DWDR/HLC and Off.
  • Off: In this mode, the camera will not use any light compensation mechanism. Therefore, when there is a contrast in light, the background of the image can be viewed with sharpness, but the foreground may appear dark.
  • BLC (Back Light Compensation): When a high-contrast scenario is detected, this function will increase the overall image brightness. As the entire image brightness increases, the background may become brighter than the actual image. Enable this function when the indoor environment to be monitored is very dark.
  • DWDR (Digital Wide Dynamic Range): When this function is active, the camera adjusts to environments with high light contrast, making the entire image lighting uniform. Enable this function only in scenarios with high contrast; otherwise, the white balance of the image may be affected.
  • HLC (High Light Compensation): Attempts to attenuate the amount of light emitted by a light source, such as car headlights, reducing its detrimental effect on the image. Note: This function does not create masks for light sources but attenuates the overall image illumination.
Image Adjustment Submenu with options for camera image adjustments.
Exposure Submenu with options for adjusting the camera sensor's exposure.
White Balance Allows selecting a profile to define how the camera will compensate for the image's white balance. Manual adjustment requires technical knowledge and skills and usually takes a lot of time to achieve good accuracy. The Auto option allows all this control to be done automatically. The other profiles are indicated for monitoring specific environments with little variation: indoor, outdoor, day, or night.
Day/Night Function to determine how the camera will display colors in the presence and/or absence of light:
  • Black and white: In this option, the camera will always remain in black and white, regardless of lighting conditions.
  • Color: In this option, the camera will always remain in color as long as lighting conditions permit. If you select this option, ensure that the environment where the camera will be installed always has lighting; otherwise, in low-light locations, the generated image may be very noisy, affecting product performance.
  • Auto: In this option, the image will automatically switch between color and black and white according to the light level. By pressing Enter on this option, you can also choose the levels at which the camera will switch from Color to Black and white, and vice versa, adapting the product to the installation scenario. The Day/Night option is related to when the camera will automatically enter Night mode; the lower this point, the longer the camera will remain in Color mode. The Night/Day option is used to configure when the camera returns to Color mode and turns off the LEDs; the lower this point, the sooner the camera will return to Color mode.
Language Sets the menu language. Available options are English and Portuguese.
Advanced Submenu with options that define the camera's configuration parameters.
Default Used to reset the camera to factory defaults.
Exit Exits the OSD menu.

Image Adjustments

Mode Sharpness Brightness Contrast Saturation Chroma Gamma 2DNR Back
Default 11 7 8 12 7 7 7 Back
Function Description
Image Mode Allows selection between three profiles with fixed and predefined image adjustment values: default, soft, and vivid.
Sharpness Adjusts image sharpness. Changing the value alters the definition and color presentation. The main configuration usually does not need to be changed.
Brightness Adjusts image brightness. A higher value results in brighter video. Changing the value adjusts the bright and dark sections of the video accordingly. This function can be used when the entire video is too dark or too bright. Note that the video may become blurry when the brightness level is high.
Contrast Adjusts image contrast. This function can be used when the video brightness is acceptable, but the contrast is not. Note that the video may become blurry when the value is too low. If this value is too high, the dark sections of the video may lack brightness, while the bright sections may be overexposed.
Saturation Adjusts image tonal range. Changing the value adjusts the tonal range but does not affect video brightness. There is a default value according to sensor sensitivity. The main configuration usually does not need to be changed.
Chroma Adjusts image color gain. A higher value results in stronger colors. This function does not affect overall video brightness. If the selected value is too high, the color may become too intense. For the gray part of the video, distortion may occur if the white balance is not accurate. Note that video quality may decrease if the value is too low.
Gamma Electronic correction performed by the camera's circuits to balance brightness. Adjusting the level will slightly influence the composite video output voltage, changing how the monitor constructs images through the combination of red, green, and blue pixels on the screen. Higher values will provide more brightness, especially in darker grayscale areas. We do not recommend changing the parameters of this function, as it requires specific knowledge of monitor operation.
2DNR DNR (Digital Noise Reduction) reduces image graininess. Noise is significantly reduced by adjusting this function, also improving the signal-to-noise ratio and increasing horizontal resolution. The result is a clearer and sharper image even in low lighting conditions.

Exposure

Function Description
Exposure Mode Allows selection between three profiles with predefined values and specific situations: blur reduction, reduced noise, auto, and manual. In manual mode, the shutter speed can be adjusted. Shutter: The sensor's exposure time can be configured. This time is described as 1/value. For example, 60 means the sensor will be exposed to light for a period of 1 second divided by 60. The shorter the exposure time, the more frames per second (FPS) will be captured. However, as the light incidence on the sensor decreases, the image will become darker.
Exposure Level Selects the sensor's exposure level to control light incidence according to the monitored environment. The higher the value, the greater the exposure and brightness. In case of image oscillations due to the type of environmental lighting, such as LED lamps, adjust the exposure level until the effect is eliminated.
Anti-flicker Minimizes the flicker effect (blinking/trembling) in the image, caused by voltage fluctuations in the power grid supplying the environment's lamps. Note: If this function is changed to 50 or 60 Hz, the HLC function cannot be enabled.
