Installation Steps
Dash Disassembly
Follow these steps to safely remove the factory radio and surrounding trim.
Step 1: Remove Side Trim Panels
Unclip and remove the side trim panels from each side of the center console. The diagram (Figure A) shows this action.
Step 2: Remove Pocket Screws
Remove the two Phillips screws securing the pocket, then remove the pocket. The diagram (Figure B) illustrates this action.
Step 3: Remove Radio Chassis Screws
Remove the two 8mm screws facing upwards from the bottom of the radio chassis inside the pocket cavity. The diagram (Figure C) shows the location of these screws.
Step 4: Remove Center Trim Panel
Unclip and remove the small trim panel located between the radio and the steering column. Note: Models with automatic climate control may have a thermistor hose attached to this panel. Disconnect this hose from under the dash, above the gas pedal, to provide sufficient slack before re-installing the panel. The diagram (Figure C) shows this panel.
Step 5: Remove Top Tray
Unclip the tray situated above the radio by prying up on its outer corners. Remove the tray. The diagram (Figure D) shows this step.
Step 6: Remove Top Radio Screws
Remove the two Phillips screws located on the top of the factory radio. The diagram (Figure E) shows their location.
Step 7: Remove Radio Assembly
Unclip and remove the entire factory radio assembly. The diagram (Figure F) illustrates this action.
Step 8: Remove A/C Vents
Remove one Phillips screw from each A/C vent, then unclip and remove the vents. The diagram (Figure G) shows this process.
Step 9: Remove Hazard Light Switch
Remove the two Phillips screws securing the hazard light switch. Retain these screws for the kit assembly.
Kit Preparation
Prepare the new trim panel and components for installation.
Step 1: Attach Hazard Light Switch
Attach the hazard light switch to the radio trim panel using two of the supplied #8 x 3/8" Phillips screws. The diagram (Figure A) shows this attachment.
Step 2: Attach Panel Clips
Attach the six white panel clips to the radio housing trim panel. The diagram (Figure A) illustrates clip placement.
Kit Assembly
Assemble the new kit and install the aftermarket radio.
Step 1: Attach Radio Brackets
Attach the radio brackets to the radio housing trim panel using four of the supplied #6 x 3/8" Phillips screws. The diagram (Figure A) shows bracket installation.
Step 2: Attach Top Bracket
Attach the top bracket to the top of the radio brackets using four of the supplied #6 x 3/8" Phillips screws. The diagram (Figure B) illustrates this step.
Step 3: Install Radio

Step 4: Attach A/C Vents
Attach the A/C vents to the radio trim panel and secure them using two of the supplied #8 x 3/8" Phillips screws. The diagram (Figure D) shows vent attachment.
Step 5: Connect Wiring and Antenna
Locate the factory wiring harness and antenna connector in the dash. Complete all necessary connections to the new radio. Metra recommends using the appropriate mating adapter from Metra and/or AXXESS. Reconnect the negative battery terminal and test the radio to ensure it functions correctly.
Step 6: Reassemble Dash
Reassemble the dashboard in the reverse order of disassembly.
