InControl
General Information on the InControl System
Use the system, adjust settings, and view system messages only when it is safe to do so. Do not allow the system to distract the driver while operating the vehicle. Driver distraction can lead to accidents resulting in severe injuries or fatalities.
InControl™ uses a smartphone and mobile technologies in the vehicle to connect to various services, and offers a range of other convenient functions.
InControl has 4 main functions:
- InControl Remote.
- InControl Secure.
- InControl Wi-Fi.
- InControl Apps.
If your dealer has not registered InControl in advance, or if you are not the first owner of the vehicle, you must create an account on the website www.landroverincontrol.com/owner. After creating an account, follow the on-screen instructions to link your vehicle to your account and activate InControl.
Note: 100% mobile network coverage is not guaranteed in all areas.
Note: When selling the vehicle, the responsibility for removing the vehicle from the InControl account lies with the vehicle owner.
InControl Remote
InControl Remote includes the following elements:
- The InControl Remote smartphone app.
- Emergency service call function.
- Emergency assistance call function.
InControl Remote Smartphone App
The InControl Remote smartphone app offers several functions, including:
- Remote check of fuel level and driving range.
- Vehicle location identification for quick vehicle finding in a crowded parking lot.
- Check if all windows and doors are closed.
- Trip information download function, which helps calculate expenses for business trips.
The InControl Remote smartphone app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store for iPhone or Google Play for Android.
Note: iPhone is a trademark of Apple Computer Inc., registered in the USA and other countries.
Breakdown Service Call Function
Located on the overhead console. See 434, CONTROLS.
In case of a breakdown, lift the cover to access the button. The button will be illuminated by a white LED. Press the button for 2 seconds to make the call. Your location and vehicle details will be automatically transmitted to Land Rover Assistance.
After activating the call, the button will flash amber. During the call, the amber indicator on the button will remain constantly lit. After use, close the button cover.
SOS Emergency Call Function
SOS Located on the overhead console. See 434, CONTROLS.
If your personal safety is threatened, lift the cover to access the button. The button will be illuminated by a red LED. Press the button for 2 seconds to make the call. Your location and vehicle details will be automatically transmitted to emergency services.
After activating the call, the button will flash amber. During the call, the amber indicator on the button will remain constantly lit. After use, close the button cover.
Note: In the event of airbag deployment or an accident, the SOS Emergency Call function will activate automatically.
Note: If you are abroad, the call will be made, but automatic transmission of vehicle information and location is not guaranteed.
InControl Secure
InControl Secure provides access to a stolen vehicle tracking service. In case of vehicle theft or unauthorized movement, the InControl Secure control center will contact you to confirm the actions. You can also contact the InControl Secure control center using the InControl Remote smartphone app or the phone number listed on the InControl website.
During vehicle servicing or repair, the InControl system must be put into service mode. This can be done using the InControl smartphone app or the InControl website.
If the vehicle is being transported, the InControl system must be put into transport mode. This can also be done using the InControl smartphone app or the InControl website.
Failure to put the system into service or transport mode may result in a false theft notification.
Note: After the initial activation of service or transport mode, these modes must be updated every 10 hours or more frequently if necessary.

InControl Wi-Fi
InControl Wi-Fi provides internet connectivity via a high-speed 3G connection.
To use this, a SIM card must be inserted into the SIM card holder. The SIM card holder is located under the front panel on the driver's side.
The SIM card holder uses a "Mini-SIM" interface. If your SIM card is a different format, such as "Micro-SIM", you will need an adapter or a different SIM card.
Note: If the SIM card was previously used in a mobile phone or other device and is protected by a PIN, you must reset the PIN code before using the SIM card in the vehicle.
For SIM card installation, press button (1) to eject the SIM card holder (2). Insert the SIM card into the holder as shown in figure (3). Fully close the SIM card holder.
Note: The USB port (4) is for service use only.
Ensure the SIM card is correctly positioned in the holder. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the SIM card or holder.
Wi-Fi Icons
1. Connection to 3G mobile network.
2. Connection to 2G mobile network.
3. Connecting.
4. No mobile network connection.

InControl Apps
The InControl Apps function allows you to view and use approved smartphone applications via the vehicle's touchscreen.
To access the InControl Apps function, you must first download the InControl Apps for your smartphone. For Apple iPhone®, this app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store (SM). For Android phones, the app is available through the Google Play service.
Note: Not all smartphones are compatible with the InControl Apps function. A list of compatible smartphones and supported applications is available in the "Owners" section of the www.landrover.com website.

USB Connection
1. USB port for InControl Apps function.
To activate the InControl Apps function, connect your smartphone using a suitable USB cable to the USB port on the center console. The USB port for the InControl Apps function has a yellow surround.
After connecting, you will be able to use the InControl Apps function, and compatible applications will be displayed on the vehicle's touchscreen. You can now launch and use these applications using the vehicle's touchscreen.
Note: For safety reasons, the functionality of some applications will be limited while driving.
Note: To connect to the vehicle, the smartphone must be unlocked and connected to the USB port.
