Land Rover InControl Overview
Land Rover InControl offers a suite of connected services designed to enhance your driving experience, providing greater control, safety, and convenience. These features utilize your smartphone and mobile technologies to connect your vehicle to various services.
Getting Started with InControl
To use many InControl features, an internet connection is required. A Micro-SIM card with data transmission enabled must be provided by the owner. An InControl account is necessary for features like Protect, Remote Premium, and Secure Tracker. You can create or activate your account by visiting My Land Rover InControl.
Note: Responsibility for removing a vehicle from an InControl account lies with the owner upon vehicle sale.
InControl Features
1. Protect
The Protect feature requires an InControl account. For detailed information, visit the InControl section on the Land Rover website.
- Remote Essentials: Provides features such as:
- "Vehicle Status" (Vehicle condition)
- "Journeys" (Trips)
- "Assistance" (Help)
- "Settings" (Settings)
- "Wake Up Timer" (Activation Timer)
- SOS Emergency Call: An emergency call function.
- ERA GLONASS Check Procedure: A procedure for checking the ERA GLONASS system.
- Optimised Land Rover Assistance: Roadside assistance services.
2. Remote Premium
Remote Premium expands on Remote Essentials with additional features:
- Beep & Flash (Audible and visual signaling): Helps locate your vehicle by flashing the lights and sounding an audible signal.
- Vehicle Security (Vehicle security): Allows remote locking and unlocking of the vehicle, and checking the status of doors and windows. It also monitors alarm status.
- Remote Climate (Remote climate control): Enables remote start of the engine and climate control for pre-conditioning the cabin. This feature can be activated via the InControl Remote smartphone app or the InControl website.
3. Secure Tracker
Secure Tracker provides stolen vehicle tracking services. In case of a vehicle breach or unauthorized movement, the stolen vehicle tracking center will contact the account holder. The Land Rover InControl Remote app or the InControl website can be used for communication.
Service Mode and Transport Mode can be activated/deactivated via the app or website to prevent theft alerts during transport or servicing.
4. InControl Apps
InControl Apps allows you to use compatible smartphone applications through your vehicle's touchscreen. You need to download the Land Rover InControl Remote app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Note: Data charges may apply for app usage.
To use InControl Apps:
- Search for "Land Rover InControl Apps" in your app store.
- Download and install the app.
- Launch the app and select the InControl Apps icon.
- Follow the on-screen instructions in the "Quick Start Guide" (QSG).
Some InControl Apps require a Bluetooth® connection. Ensure your phone is paired via Bluetooth.
5. Wi-Fi Hotspot
The Wi-Fi Hotspot feature provides 4G internet access within the vehicle, supporting up to eight connected devices. Ensure your Micro-SIM card has data transmission enabled.
To activate the Wi-Fi Hotspot:
- Navigate to Settings > All Settings > Features > Connectivity.
- Select "Hotspot ON" to create a hotspot.
- View the hotspot name and password in the Hotspot settings menu.
You can refresh the password by tapping the Refresh icon.
Important Notes and Safety
- For safety, operate InControl systems only when it is safe to do so. Never use the touchscreen or system controls while driving.

SOS Emergency Call and ERA GLONASS
The SOS Emergency Call function can be activated automatically (e.g., in case of airbag deployment) or manually by pressing the SOS button. The button is located on the overhead console.
ERA GLONASS is an emergency response system that automatically collects data about the location, time, and severity of a traffic incident and transmits it to the ERA GLONASS operator.
Checking the ERA GLONASS System:
- Ensure the electric parking brake is engaged.
- The vehicle must be stationary for at least 1 minute.
- Ignition on or engine running.
- No active emergency call is in progress.
- Ensure good signal reception.
- Press and hold the assistance call button for at least 3 seconds (but no more than 10 seconds).
- After 3 seconds, while holding the assistance call button, press and hold the SOS emergency call button for at least 3 seconds. The amber LED will illuminate and flash.
The system will provide voice prompts during the check procedure.
If the system is faulty, the message "SOS System Not Available" may appear on the instrument cluster. Contact your dealer or authorized workshop if this occurs.
Optimised Land Rover Assistance
The Optimised Land Rover Assistance button is located on the left side of the overhead console. In case of a breakdown, press the cover to access the button. Press and hold the button for 2 seconds to call roadside assistance. The button will flash until a response is received, then change color. Vehicle data and location will be automatically transmitted.
