Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning

Remove the basket to allow the appliance to cool down more quickly.

Clean the fryer thoroughly with hot water, soap, and a non-abrasive sponge. The use of a degreasing liquid is recommended to remove any remains. If there is dirt stuck in the interior of the basket and the rack, we recommend filling the basket with hot water mixed with detergent, as this will make it easier to remove the dirt. Clean the interior of the appliance with hot water and a non-abrasive sponge. Clean the heating element with a soft cleaning brush to remove any food residue. Be careful not to damage the heating element.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Possible Solution
The air fryer does not work. The air fryer isn't plugged in. Plug the appliance to an earthed wall socket.
The timer wasn't set. Press the increase and/or decrease icon to adjust the cooking time required to start the air fryer.
The basket does not fit inside the air fryer. The basket is not inserted correctly into the air fryer. Properly slide the basket into the air fryer.
The basket is too full. Do not exceed the basket's maximum capacity.
Ingredients are not cooked properly. There are too many ingredients in the basket. Put smaller quantities of ingredients in the basket. Smaller quantities are more evenly fried.
The set temperature is too low. Press the increase and/or decrease icon to set the desired temperature.
Cooking time is too short. Press the increase and/or decrease icon to adjust the cooking time as desired.
Food is unevenly cooked. Some types of food should be stirred halfway through the cooking time. Foods that are placed on top of each other or in front of each other (e.g., chips) should be stirred halfway through the cooking time.
Food isn't crisp enough. The food is meant to be cooked with a traditional fryer. Use foods meant to be cooked in air fryers for a crispier result.
You are cooking very fatty food. When cooking fatty food in the air fryer, a large amount of oil will leak onto the base of the basket. The oil produces white smoke and the basket may become hotter than normal. This does not affect the air fryer or the result.
White smoke comes out of the air fryer. The basket contains traces of fat from previous uses. The white smoke is caused by the fat heating up in the basket. Be sure to clean the basket thoroughly after every use.
Using quality potatoes will ensure even cooking. Use fresh potatoes and make sure they stay put during frying.
Chips are unevenly cooked. Potatoes are too starchy. Rinse the potatoes well and dry them to remove the starch on the outside.
The crispiness of the chips depends on the amount of oil and water they contain. Be sure to dry the potatoes well before adding the oil. Cut the potatoes into smaller pieces for a crispier result. Add a little more oil for a crispier result.
