Operation
Initial Check Before Start:
- Glue Granulate Filling: Open the granulate container (1) and fill. Close the container. Ensure heating elements (2) are covered.
- Inserting Edgeband in Edgeband Feed: Place the edgeband (2) on the support (1), pass it through rollers (3), pressure roller feed (5), and feed roller (6) up to the crosscut blade (4).
- Adjusting the Height of the Edge Band: Adjustment is made in 3 positions. For positions 1 & 2, loosen clamping lever (S), move to desired height, and retighten. For position 3, adjust using knurled screw S1. Note: Optimum height adjustment = edge band + slight play (1-2mm) to prevent jamming.
- Applying Contact Pressure to Edge Band: Adjust the pressure roller (2) position relative to the edge band by turning knob (1) to set contact pressure based on edge band thickness.
Switching On the Machine:
- Turn the main switch (1) to ON (I). The control lamp (2) will light up.
- Switch on the feeding unit by turning the de-activation switch to ON (I).
Setting the Glue Temperature:
Use the control unit (1) to preset the glue temperature. The current temperature is shown on display (2).
- Push key 6 to set preset temperature.
- Push key 4 to reduce preset temperature.
- Push key 5 to increase preset temperature.
- Push key 6 to confirm.
NOTE: The feed unit is not released until the target glue temperature is reached.
Adjusting the Feed Rate:
The feed control unit (1) sets/displays feed speed and activates the motor. Display (2) shows the current speed.
- Use potentiometer (5) to set speed (clockwise for higher, counter-clockwise for slower).
- Activate feed motor (forward) with key 3.
- Stop feed motor with key 4.
- Activate feed motor (reverse) with key 6 (normally not required).
NOTE: This control unit is active only when the feed motor is activated.
Setting the Mode Selector Switch:
The mode selector switch (1) selects the operating mode:
- Mode I: Switch in "Straight" position. Edge feed and cut-off are activated/deactivated by the micro switch on the worktable.
- Mode II: Switch in "S Radius" position. Edge feed and cut-off are controlled by the foot pedal and edge length adjustment.
Adjusting the Glue Quantity:
Use setting wheels 1 and 2 to adjust glue quantity.
- Setting wheel 1 adjusts glue for the edgeband.
- Setting wheel 2 adjusts glue for the workpiece.
Edge Banding (Straight Edge Mode):
Checklist before start:
- Edge band inserted and height adjusted.
- Glue granules filled.
- Machine switched on (main switch ON).
- Glue target temperature reached.
- Feed motor activated.
- Speed Feed motor selected and activated.
- Mode selector switch set to "Straight".
Gluing process:
- Place workpiece to the right of the limit switch at the stop.
- Push workpiece left. When the limit switch is actuated, edge feed starts automatically at the selected speed.
- Push workpiece evenly, with a slight edge band overhang, against the rubber rollers.
- When the workpiece no longer contacts the limit switch, the edgeband is cut, and feed stops.
- Another edge can be glued, or the machine stopped.
Edge Banding (Radius "S" Mode):
Checklist before start:
- Edge band inserted and height adjusted.
- Glue granules filled.
- Machine switched on (main switch ON).
- Glue target temperature reached.
- Feed motor activated.
- Speed Feed motor selected and activated.
- Mode selector switch set to "S Radius".
- Pressure rollers/workpiece support may need disassembly.
If necessary, remove pressure rollers (1, 2) and workpiece support (3) by unscrewing (S).
Adjusting the Timer for Edge Band Length:
The timer can be set using buttons. After feed activation, it counts down. At 0, the edge is cut off and feed stops.
Foot Pedal:
- In radius "S" mode, push foot pedal start (red) to begin.
- Push foot pedal stop (black) to stop the process.
Gluing process:
- Place workpiece against the stop.
- Press foot pedal (1) to start edge feed and band feeding at the selected speed.
- Push workpiece evenly, with a short overhang, against the rubber rollers.
- After the timer elapses, the edge band is cut, and feed stops. Alternatively, stop by pressing the second foot pedal (2).
- Another edge can be glued, or the machine stopped.
Stop / Switch Off the Machine:
- Normal Stop: Turn feed motor switch (1) to position "0". Heating remains active.
- Switch Off: Turn main switch (2) to position "O".
- Emergency Stop: Use the EMERGENCY STOP button (3). CAUTION: The emergency stop button can only be unlocked after the emergency situation has been eliminated.
