Bosch FLEXIDOME IP Camera Quick Installation Guide
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing Bosch FLEXIDOME IP 4000i, 5000i, and starlight 5000i outdoor dome cameras. It covers assembly, wiring, and initial setup procedures.
Step 1: Identify Components and Tools
The following components and tools are required for installation:
- Camera unit
- Mounting screws: 6x30 mm (x6), T4x30 mm (x6), 4.5x40 mm (x1)
- Anchors (if needed)
- T20 Torx driver
- Micro SD card slot
- Reset button
- Menu button
- Optional: NBN-MCSMB connector
Step 2: Assemble Camera Base and Dome
Attach the camera dome to the mounting base. Secure the dome using six T4x30 mm screws.
Step 3: Prepare Mounting Surface
Drill holes in the mounting surface according to the template. The required hole diameter is approximately Ø(6-7) mm. Ensure a clearance of at least 7 mm [0.3 in] and 8 mm [0.3 in] for cable entry.
Step 4: Mount Camera Base
Secure the camera base to the mounting surface using the provided screws (e.g., 6x30 mm, 4.5x40 mm) and anchors if necessary.
Step 5: Connect Cables
Connect the necessary cables to the camera. This includes power, Ethernet (PoE), audio, and alarm connections. The camera supports 12 VDC / 24 VAC power input (SELV Class 2, 24-28 AWG wiring). The Ethernet connection defaults to DHCP, or uses Auto-IP (169.254.x.x) if no DHCP server is available. Ensure proper grounding if using a power adapter.
- RJ45 Ethernet [PoE]
- SMB connector [optional]
- BNC connector
- Audio connector
- Alarm connector
- Power input terminals: GDN, IN, OUT
Step 6: Install Micro SD Card
Insert a Micro SD card into the designated slot if local storage is required.
Step 7: Connect Network and Power
Connect the Ethernet cable for network access and the power supply. The diagram shows connections for Power, Ethernet (PoE), Audio, and Alarm.
Step 8: Adjust Camera Orientation
The camera allows for 350° pan and 350° twist adjustment. Ensure the light sensor is not positioned below the edge of the cover, especially for IR versions.
Step 9: Fine-tune Tilt and Focus
Adjust the camera's tilt up to 130°. Use the menu controls to adjust focus and zoom. The menu options include:
- On
- 180°
- Default
- Focus - autofocus
- Zoom (0-6)
- Zoom OK - autofocus
- Focus & Zoom OK
- Analog format
- Output OK
Step 10: Configure Camera Settings
Use the 'MENU' and 'RE' buttons to navigate camera settings. The available settings shown are related to focus, zoom, and output format.
Step 11: Final Assembly
Complete the camera assembly by securing any remaining parts, such as the dome cover, using T20 screws.
Step 12: Install Camera
Mount the assembled camera to its final location.
