Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the RETEKESS TR110 radio receiver. The RETEKESS TR110 is a full-band digital tuning radio receiver. This entry-level radio is designed for radio enthusiasts and also serves as a supplementary receiver for outdoor enthusiasts (VHF / UHF radio reception). It can provide flight information for frequent flyers. Please read this manual carefully before use and keep it for future reference.

This is a wide-frequency radio with digital tuning; it can receive FM (Frequency Modulation) / MW (Medium Wave) / SW (Shortwave).

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

Before using this radio receiver, please ensure you follow these basic safety tips to ensure safe and reliable use of the product.

Instructions for Functions and Button Operations

1. Install the Battery:

Open the battery compartment cover and correctly insert the BL 5C lithium battery according to its positive and negative polarity, then close the battery compartment cover. After the battery is installed, the radio's backlight will turn on and display the time.

2. [POWER] Power ON/OFF Timer / Sleep Mode Settings:

2.1. Power ON/OFF Function:

In time mode, press the power button to turn on the radio. When powered on, press and hold the power button to turn off the radio.

2.2. Sleep Timer Settings:

To activate the sleep timer, press and hold the [POWER] button for 2 seconds while the radio is off. The screen will display "90" minutes. Then, short press the [POWER] button to select the desired duration (90-80-70-60-50-40-30-20-10 minutes). After setting the sleep timer, a message will appear on the LCD. Note: The sleep timer will automatically turn off the radio after the set time.

2.3. Enable SNR and RSSI Function and Time Switch Display:

In the radio's operating state: short press [POWER] to activate the SNR & RSSI function and display the time switch. This is a reference value for SNR and reception sensitivity. Time status: 8.8.8.8

3. [LOCK (Lock)]: Set Lock, Unlock / Mute:

3.1. Lock and Unlock Settings:

In the radio's ON/OFF state, press and hold the [LOCK] button for 2 seconds. The display will show "?". You will then be unable to operate any buttons. Press and hold [LOCK] again for 2 seconds. When the "?" symbol disappears, all buttons can be operated.

3.2. Set Mute Mode:

In the radio's operating state, short press the [LOCK] button. The "VOL 00" symbol will flash on the display, and the radio will enter mute mode. In mute mode, short press [LOCK] to restore the current volume level; the mute function will be disabled.

4. Operation of External DC 5V Power Source:

When the battery symbol shows empty, please connect the Type-C charging cable (standard accessory: USB Type-C cable) to a DC 5V power source to charge the radio. The battery symbol "?" will flash during charging. The battery symbol will stop flashing and show full when the radio is fully charged.

5.3.5 mm Headphone Jack Operation:

While listening to radio programs, you can use the radio's built-in speaker or headphones with a 3.5 mm jack. (Use 3.5 mm headphones to avoid disturbing others).

6. Volume [Volume+/-]:

Short press [VOL +] and [VOL-] to increase or decrease the volume by 1 step. Long press the [VOL +] and [VOL-] buttons to quickly increase or decrease the volume. The adjustable volume range is 00-40 levels.

Each band can store 100 stations.

Note: If no operation is performed within 3 seconds, the selection operation will be terminated.

8. [TUNE ↑ / ↓]: Time Setting / Station Selection Button:

8.1: Time Settings:

In time mode: long press [SET] for 2 seconds, the hour number will flash; short press [TUNE ↑ / ↓] to set the current hour. Press the [SET] button, the minute number will flash, press [TUNE ↑ / ↓] to set the current minute. Note: Radio time is displayed in 24-hour format.

8.2: Alarm Settings (as indicated for automatic power-on):

Set the current time using method 8.1.

8.3. Station Selection Operation:

In radio operating state:

Button Operations

Press the [TUNE ↑ / ↓] button to increase or decrease the radio station volume.

Long press [TUNE ↑ / ↓]. The radio will automatically enter station search mode. When a station is found, the search will stop, and the found station will start playing.

9. [BAND (Band)]: Band Switching / Automatic Station Search and Storage / Alarm ON/OFF:

9.1: Band Switch:

In radio operating state, press [BAND] to switch between FM/MW (AM)/SW/AIR/CB/VHF (UHF)/UBD/WX bands.

9.2: Automatic Station Search and Storage:

Long press [BAND] for 2 seconds to activate the automatic scanning and station storage function. The radio will search from the lowest to the highest frequency in the current band and store stations that have a signal. It will automatically play the first station after completing the automatic station search and storage. During automatic search, "PRESET" and "P x x x" will flash on the display, and the frequency will change rapidly. Note: Pressing any key during automatic search will stop the automatic search. Pre-stored stations will be updated during automatic search and storage.

9.3: In time mode: press the [BAND] button to turn the alarm ON/OFF (see section 8.2 for specific operations).

10. Set/Delete [STEP (Step)] Setting:

10.1 Set Step Value:

In radio operating state, press [STEP] to set the value. Detailed step parameters are available for each band:

Once the step value is selected, the system will default to the last selected value. Press [TUNE ↑ / ↓] to confirm the selected step value.

10.2: Delete Station:

In radio operating state, after manually saving a station according to 7.1 or performing automatic search and storage according to 9.2:

If no action is taken within 5 seconds, the radio will exit station deletion mode. Alternatively, press [STEP] to exit the setting, and the PRESET letter "P" will be displayed.

11. Menu (Menu)/Clock Settings (Hours)

Time Setting:

In the power-off state, long press [SET] for 2 seconds, then press [SET], and then press "↑" or "↓" to set the hour (see section 8.1 for details). Press the [SET] button, the minute number will flash, press [TUNE ↑ / ↓] to set the current minute. Note: Radio time is displayed in 24-hour format.

11.2. In the radio's operating state, press [SET] to enter the menu settings (see section 14 for specific operations).

11.3. In the WX band, long press [SET] to activate the ALERT function. "SCAN" will flash. Long press [SET] to exit the alert function.

Note: SCAN indicates that WX is in the silent detection state of the NOAA alert. If an alert signal is received, an audible alarm or alert will be issued.

12. Tuning Knob:

In the radio's operating state: Turn the knob to adjust the bit values of the frequency display. When adjusting the value, the corresponding letter "▲" will flash. Press [STEP] to select the desired value. Turn the knob to quickly select the desired frequency.

13. [MODE] Setting:

13.1. In the radio's operating state, press [SET] to enter the setting mode, then press [MODE] to select the corresponding submenu functions.

13.2. In Shortwave (SW), Very High Frequency (VHF), and Aviation (AIR) bands:

In standby mode, press the [MODE] key to switch measurement band functions.

13.2.1: In Shortwave (SW) reception mode, press [MODE] to switch the measurement band, and the frequencies will be:

13.2.2: Press the Very High Frequency (VHF) button, then press [MODE] to switch the measurement band, and the frequencies will be:

VHF30.00 MHz, VHF136.00 MHz, VHF174.00 MHz, VHF220.00 MHz, UHF409 MHz, UHF446.0620 MHz, UHF462.5620 MHz, UHF443.00 MHz

13.2.3: In AIR reception mode, press [MODE] to switch the measurement band, and the frequencies will be:

118.00MHz, 123.00MHz, 128.00 MHz, 133.00MHz, 138.00MHz

13.2. Preliminary Scan of Pre-stored Stations:

After settings 7.1 or 9.2:

Tips: After setting the desired radio station, long press the MODE button to enter the preview mode, which will start with the current lowest stations and switch stations every 5 seconds. You can press any key to exit the preview mode. Stations without signals will be automatically skipped during playback. This is useful for quickly finding a designated radio station and achieving rapid capture of pre-stored stations.

13.3. In the power-off state, short press [MODE] to switch between Fahrenheit/Celsius degrees.

14. Band Settings:

14.1 MW (Medium Wave) Reception Status:

14.1.1. Press [SET]; the bandwidth "BW" will flash. Short press [MODE] to set the bandwidth to 1.80 kHz, 1.00 kHz, 6.00 kHz, 4.00 kHz, 3.00 kHz, 2.50 kHz, and 2.00 kHz.

14.1.2. Press [SET] twice. When the MW frequency 520 kHz or 522 kHz flashes, short press the [MODE] button to select 520 kHz or 522 kHz. Short press [SET] to confirm. The current setting is used by default if no operation is performed within five seconds.

Indication 520 shows that the medium wave step value is 10 kHz (or 5 kHz) and the reception range is from 520 MHz to 1710 kHz. Indication 522 shows that the FM medium wave step value is 9 kHz (or 3 kHz) and the reception range is from 522 kHz to 1710 kHz.

Note: In the United States, Canada, Mexico, and other North and South American countries, the MW step value is set to 10 kHz (or 5 kHz). In other countries, the MW step value is 9 kHz (3 kHz).

14.1.3. Press [SET] 3 times. ATT (LOCAL) or NORMAL ATT will flash, then short press the MODE key to select DX/LOCAL/NORMAL. Then press [SET], and ART DX/LOCAL/NORMAL will stop flashing. It can exit the (DX) or (LOCAL) mode for operation and save the current setting by default if no operation is performed within five seconds.

14.2 FM Reception Status:

14.2.1. Press [SET]. The bandwidth "BW" will flash. Short press [MODE] to set the bandwidth to 40 kHz, 110 kHz, 84 kHz, and 60 kHz.

14.2.2. Press [SET] twice. The FM frequency 64.00 MHz, 76.00 MHz, or 87.5 MHz will flash. Press the [MODE] key to select 64.00 MHz, 76.00 MHz, and 87.50 MHz. Then short press SET to confirm the current settings. The current setting is used by default if no operation is performed within five seconds.

When 64.00 MHz is displayed, it means the FM reception range is currently 64.00-108.00 MHz. When 76.00 MHz is displayed, it means the FM reception range is currently 76.00-108.00 MHz. When 87.50 MHz is displayed, it means the FM reception range is currently 87.50-108.00 MHz.

14.2.3. Press [SET] 3 times. AT, DX, LOCAL, or NORMAL will flash; then press [MODE] to select BT, DX, LOCAL, or NORMAL. After selection, press the [SET] key to confirm the current selection. ATT, DX, LOCAL, or NORMAL will stop flashing. The current setting is used by default if no operation is performed within five seconds.

14.2.4. Press [SET] 4 times. "De-emphasis: 50us or Attenuation: 75us" will flash. Short press [MODE] to select attenuation: 50us or Attenuation: 75 us; press SET again to confirm the current value. De-emphasis: 50us or Accent: 75us words will stop flashing. The current setting is used by default if no operation is performed within five seconds.

14.2.5. Press [SET] 5 times. "·STEREO" or "-MONO" will flash; then short press MODE to select "·STEREO" or "·MONO" setting. Press the SET button to confirm the current operation. The current setting is used by default if no operation is performed within five seconds.

14.3 SW Reception Status:

14.3.1. Press [SET]. The bandwidth "BW" will flash. Short press [MODE] to set the bandwidth to 3.00 kHz, 2.50 kHz, 2.00 kHz, 1.80 kHz, 1.00 kHz, 6.00 kHz, and 4.00 kHz.

14.3.2. Press [SET] twice. "SQ.OFF.00.ON" will flash. Press "MODE" to select SQ.ON.01~SQ.ON.09 levels, which have 9 levels. Then short press SET to confirm the desired SQ level. "VOL SQ" will flash on the screen. The current setting is used by default if no operation is performed within five seconds.

If the SQ function is not required, perform the above operation to switch to VOL SQ OFF to disable the automatic noise function.

14.3.3. Press [SET] 3 times. ATT, NORMAL, DX, or LOCAL will flash. Press [MODE] to select ATT, NORMAL, DX, or LOCAL settings. After that, short press [SET] to confirm the setting. ATT, NORMAL, DX, or LOCAL will stop flashing. It can exit (DX) or (LOCAL) mode for operation and save the default setting if no action is taken within five seconds.

14.3.4. Press [SET] 4 times.

The display "AM" will flash, and SW operates in normal shortwave reception mode.

Turn off the radio in SW state, then turn it on. LSB or DSB will automatically enter search mode. If you want to exit SSB and LSB search mode, short press [SET] 4 times, lightly press [MODE], and it can switch to flash "AM". Then lightly press [SET], and it can exit LSB and SSB search mode.

14.4 AIR (Airband Reception) Status:

14.4.1. Press [SET]. When the bandwidth (BW) flashes, short press [MODE] to set the bandwidth to 3.00 kHz, 2.50 kHz, 2.00 kHz, 1.80 kHz, 1.00 kHz, 6.00 kHz, and 4.00 kHz.

14.4.2. Press [SET] twice. SQ (SQ.OFF.00) will flash. Then short press [MODE] to select SQ from (SQ.ON.01~SQ.ON.09). If SQ shutdown is not required, please short press [SET] again. When SQ (SQ.ON.01~SQ.ON.09) flashes, short press MODE to select (SQ.OFF.00) to turn off the indicator.

14.5 CB (Citizens Band) Status:

14.5.1: Press [SET]. When the bandwidth value (BW) flashes, short press [MODE] to set the bandwidth to 3.00 kHz, 2.50 kHz, 2.00 kHz, 1.80 kHz, 1.00 kHz, 6.00 kHz, and 4.00 kHz.

14.5.2: Press [SET] twice, and the SQ indicator (SQ.OFF.00) will flash. Then short press [MODE] to select SQ from (SQ.ON.01~SQ.ON.09). If SQ shutdown is not required, please short press [SET] again. When the SQ indicator (SQ.ON.01~SQ.ON.09) flashes, short press MODE to select (SQ.OFF.00) to turn off the indicator.

14.5.3: Press [SET] 3 times. ATT/DX/LOCAL/NORMAL will flash, then short press [MODE] to select BT/DX/LOCAL/NORMAL settings. Short press [SET]. ATT/DX/LOCAL/NORMAL will stop flashing. ATT/DX/LOCAL/NORMAL will exit if no operations are performed within five seconds, and the operation will revert to the default setting.

14.6 VHF (UHF) Status:

14.6.1. Press [SET]. When "BW" flashes, short press [MODE] to set the bandwidth to 1.70 kHz, 4.50 kHz, 3.75 kHz, 2.50 kHz.

14.6.2. Press [SET] twice, and the SQ setting (SQ.OFF/ON.00) will flash. Then short press [MODE] to select SQ from (SQ.ON.01~SQ.ON.09). If SQ shutdown is not required, briefly press [MODE] until (SQ.OFF.00) is displayed. At this time, SQ OFF will be closed (Note: SQ OFF is set to adjustable 9 levels, and the level can be selected according to actual requirements).

14.7 UBD (Customized Reception) Status:

14.7.1. Press [SET]. When "BW" flashes, short press the [MODE] key to set the bandwidth to 1.70 kHz, 4.50 kHz, 3.75 kHz, and 2.50 kHz.

14.7.2. Press [SET] twice, and the SQ indicator (SQ.OFF/ON.00) will flash. Then short press [MODE] to select SQ levels (SQ.ON.01~SQ.ON.09). Press [SET], and 'VOL SQ' will stop flashing to confirm the current setting. If the SQ function is not required, perform the above operation to switch to VOL SQ OFF to disable the automatic noise function.

14.7.3. Press [SET] 3 times. ATT/DX/LOCAL/NORMAL will flash, then short press [MODE] to select ATT/DX/LOCAL/NORMAL settings. Press [SET]. ATT/DX/LOCAL/NORMAL will stop flashing. ATT/DX/LOCAL/NORMAL will exit if no operations are performed within five seconds, and the operation will revert to the default setting.

14.7.4. Press [SET] 4 times. The first digit before UBD will flash. Press [MODE], and the lower level symbol "↓" will appear on the display. Press "↑" or "↓" to set the data, then press [STEP] to move the cursor position, then press "↑" or "↓" to set the desired low frequency range "top". Short press [MODE] displays the high-level symbol "↑". Press [TUNE ↑ / ↓] to set the data, and press [STEP] to move the cursor position, then press "↑" or "↓" to set the desired high frequency range "top". Short press [SET] to confirm the setting. (Adjustable frequency range: (30 MHz-520 MHz))

1. WX (North American Weather Band):

MANKX has already corrected this with masonry: 162.400 MHz, 162.4250 MHz, 162.4500 MHz, 162.4750 MHz, 162.500 MHz, 162.5250 MHz, 162.5500 MHz. In WX mode, press [TUNE ↑ / ↓] to select the required frequency, or turn the tuning knob to select the desired frequency point. Long press SET to enter the alert mode, and "SCANNING" will appear on the display. When warning signals are received, the alert reception channel will automatically activate. Long press SET again to exit the alert reception mode.

About the Orange Backlight:

To facilitate use at night or in dark places, this radio is specially equipped with a warm orange backlight.
