5. INSTALLATION
5.1. TRANSPORT
Very heavy product. Must only be transported using the correct equipment. Must only be lifted using the correct lifting points with the supplied lifting eyes fitted, see Step 3.
Step 1: Dimensions of inspection pit
Diagram shows an inspection pit with measurements for the pit width (L) and the jack's adjustable width (L1). Key dimensions and tolerances are indicated: Max. 5mm gap between jack and pit wall, Max. 2mm/m slope for the pit floor, Max. 8mm variation in pit width. The relationship is L1 = L + 4mm.
Step 2: How to expand to fit width of pit
Diagram illustrates adjusting the pit jack's width. It shows the jack in a 'Before' state and an 'After' state. Wood bars are used to lever the jack's components apart to fit the pit width. A torque specification of 2x36Nm is noted, likely for securing the adjustment.
Step 3: Remove screws to fit lifting rings
Diagram shows the underside of the pit jack. Arrows indicate the removal of screws to attach four M16*30 lifting rings to the designated points.
Step 4: Lift into position. Ensure wheels are running in correct position
Diagram depicts the pit jack being carefully lifted, likely by a hoist or crane, into an inspection pit. A close-up view highlights the wheels and their engagement with the pit rails, emphasizing the need for correct alignment and smooth running.
Step 5: Refit 4 x M16x30 screws
Diagram shows the pit jack correctly positioned within the inspection pit. Arrows indicate the refitting of the four M16x30 screws that were removed in Step 3 to secure the lifting rings.
6. ASSEMBLY
Fit handles to ram with 4 x M8x16 screws, torque to 25Nm.
Diagram shows the ram component. Arrows indicate attaching the handles using four M8x16 screws with a specified torque of 25Nm.
Place ram from above.
Diagram illustrates lowering the ram assembly onto the main body of the pit jack.
Secure from below.
Diagram shows the underside of the assembled pit jack. Arrows point to locations where four M8*20 screws are used to secure components, with a torque specification of 36Nm.
Connect oil and air hose to ram.
Diagram shows the connection points for the oil pipe and air pipe to the ram. A note indicates to remove the transit plug before connection, with a separate diagram showing the plug to be scrapped.
7. OPERATION
Lifting
Diagram 1: Shows the release knob (A) in the 'NO LOAD' position. The up/down handle (B) is shown moving upwards, indicating the initial raising of the jack without load.
Diagram 2: Shows the release knob (A) in the 'LOAD' position. The up/down handle (B) is shown moving upwards, indicating the lifting of a load (represented by 'kg').
Lowering
Diagram 1: Shows the release knob (A) in the 'LOAD' position. The up/down handle (B) is shown moving downwards, indicating the start of the lowering process under load.
Diagram 2: Shows the release knob (A) being turned (indicated by a circular arrow). The up/down handle (B) is shown moving downwards, indicating the controlled lowering of the load (kg).
8. MAINTENANCE
8.1. DAILY MAINTENANCE
Diagrams show how to inspect the condition of the wheels for wear or damage.
8.2. MONTHLY MAINTENANCE
Diagrams illustrate checks for oil leaks from various points: Cylinder Seal, Oil tank, Pneumatic Pump, Oil pipe, and Connector.
Diagrams also show torque specifications for screws: 6x290Nm, 4x36Nm, and 2x36Nm. It indicates where to apply 'Oil' and 'Grease' to moving parts.
8.3. GENERAL MAINTENANCE
NOTE: Only fully qualified personnel should attempt maintenance or repairs.
Diagrams show checking the hydraulic oil level (indicated as 5.2L) and checking for deformation and cracks on various components of the pit jack. Symbols like 'X' indicate areas to check or potential issues.
8.3.1. Before each use, check for broken, cracked, bent, or loose parts, or any visible damage to pump, saddles, lifting arms, frame, and all parts including nuts, bolts, pins, and other fasteners. If any suspect item is found, remove the beam from service and take action to remedy the problem. DO NOT use the beam if it is believed to have been subjected to abnormal load or shock load. Inspect and take appropriate action.
8.3.2. Periodically check the pump piston and the ram for signs of corrosion. Clean exposed areas with a clean oiled cloth.
