Thank you for purchasing a Sealey product. Manufactured to a high standard, this product will, if used according to these instructions, and properly maintained, give you years of trouble-free performance.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. NOTE THE SAFE OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, WARNINGS & CAUTIONS. USE THE PRODUCT CORRECTLY AND WITH CARE FOR THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH IT IS INTENDED. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY CAUSE DAMAGE AND/OR PERSONAL INJURY AND WILL INVALIDATE THE WARRANTY. KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS SAFE FOR FUTURE USE.
1. SAFETY
- [See Instructions] Refer to instructions
- [Safety Footwear] Wear safety footwear
- Ensure the jack is in sound condition and good working order. Take action for immediate repair or replacement of damaged parts.
- Use genuine parts only. The use of unauthorised parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.
- Locate the jack in a suitable, well lit, work area.
- Keep work area clean and tidy and free from unrelated materials.
- Use jack on a level and solid ground, preferably concrete. Avoid tarmacadam as jack may sink in.
- [Chock Wheels] Place suitable wheel chocks under wheels of the vehicle.
- Ensure the vehicle handbrake is engaged, engine is switched off and transmission is in gear (or "Park" if automatic).
- Ensure minimum distance of 0.5m between vehicle and static objects such as doors, walls, etc., to allow for vehicle tilting.
- Ensure there are no passengers in the vehicle.
- Ensure all non-essential persons keep a safe distance whilst the jack is in use.
- Only place jack saddle under those lifting points recommended by the vehicle manufacturer (see vehicle handbook).
- Check the lifting point is stable and centred on the jack saddle.
- Ensure the jack wheels are free to move and that there are no obstructions.
- Use suitable capacity axle stands under the vehicle before proceeding with any task.
- Ensure there are no persons or obstructions beneath the vehicle before lowering.
- Use a qualified person to maintain or repair the jack hydraulic system.
- When not in use store jack, fully lowered, in a safe, dry, childproof area.
DANGER:
- Use the jack for lifting only.
- DO NOT use for supporting the lifted load.
- DO NOT operate the jack if damaged.
- DO NOT allow untrained persons to operate the jack.
- DO NOT exceed the rated capacity of the jack.
- DO NOT allow the vehicle to move while supported by the jack, or use the jack to move the vehicle.
- DO NOT jack the vehicle if there is a risk of spillage of fuel, battery acid, or other dangerous substances.
- DO NOT work under the vehicle until axle stands have been correctly positioned.
- DO NOT use the jack for purposes other than that for which it is intended.
- DO NOT top up the hydraulic system with brake fluid. Use hydraulic jack oil only.
- DO NOT adjust the safety overload valve.
Diagrammatic representations in this section illustrate: applying the handbrake, wearing safety footwear, using the jack on a hard level floor, chocking wheels, ensuring the jack capacity is not exceeded (2 tonne), correct lowering/lifting operation, and the use of suitable axle stands.

4. ASSEMBLY
4.1.
Loosen locating bolt at the side of the handle base. Push handle into socket and re-tighten locating bolt, ensuring that it fits correctly in the groove.
5. OPERATION
WARNING! Before lifting ensure Safety instructions are read and understood.
5.1. BEFORE FIRST USE
- Before using jack for the first time, purge the hydraulic unit in order to eliminate any air in the system. Turn release valve control knob to open release valve.
- Pump for 30 to 40 seconds. When complete, close the release valve by turning the release valve control knob.
Place a few drops of hydraulic jack oil on pump piston and pump handle/pedal assembly several times to distribute oil. Thoroughly lubricate moving parts.
5.2.
Rotate the release valve control knob at top of handle to either close or open the release valve.
5.3.
To raise the jack with the release valve closed, either pump the handle or the foot pedal.
5.4.
To lower the jack reverse the direction of the release valve control knob.
Diagram shows the location of the Release Valve Control Knob.
6. MAINTENANCE
IMPORTANT: Only fully qualified personnel should attempt maintenance or repair.
6.1.
When the jack is not in use, the ram should be in its lowest position to minimise corrosion. Remove the handle to deactivate the jack.
6.2.
Keep the jack clean and lubricate all moving parts with acid free oil on a regular basis.
6.3. CHECKING THE OIL LEVEL
- Pump the jack to approximately half height and with the help of another person, upend the jack (i.e. so that the ram is vertical and the jack is resting on the handle).
- WARNING: Ensure that a second person remains to hold the jack stable in the upended position - DO NOT attempt this operation unaided.
- Remove the filler plug located on top of the ram. Correct oil level is just below the lower edge of the filling hole.
- IMPORTANT: DO NOT overfill as this may affect the smooth operation of the jack.
- NOTE: Use a good quality jack oil, such as SEALEY HYDRAULIC JACK OIL.
- WARNING: DO NOT use brake fluid or any fluid other than hydraulic jack fluid, as this may cause serious damage to the jack and will invalidate the warranty!
6.4.
Before each use check for broken, cracked, bent, or loose parts, or any visible damage to ram, pump, saddle, lifting arm, frame and all parts including nuts, bolts, pins and other fasteners. If any suspect item is found remove jack from service and take the necessary action to remedy the defect. DO NOT use the jack if it is believed to have been subjected to abnormal load or shock load. Inspect and take appropriate action.
6.5.
After one year the oil should be replaced in order to extend the life of the jack. Drain and refill via the filler plug. Make sure that no dirt is allowed to enter the hydraulic system. See 6.3. for refill instructions.
6.6.
Periodically check the pump piston and the ram for signs of corrosion. Clean exposed areas with a clean oiled cloth.
