MaxiIM IM508S Components
The Autel MaxiIM IM508S is depicted with its front, back, and side views. Key components are numbered and described: 1. 7.0" LCD Capacitive Touchscreen, 2. Getting Started
IMPORTANT: Before operating or maintaining this unit, please read these instructions carefully, paying extra attention to the safety warnings and precautions. Failure to use this product properly may cause damage and/or personal injury and will void the product warranty.
Step 1: Website and Registration
Step 1 involves scanning a QR code displayed on the page. This QR code links to the Autel website (pro.autel.com), where users can create an Autel ID and register their product.
- Scan the QR code to visit pro.autel.com.
- Create an Autel ID and register the product with its serial number and password.
Step 2: Power On the Tool
Step 2 shows the MaxiIM IM508S tool connected to a power source. Users should ensure the tool is charged or connected, then press and hold the Lock/Power button [power symbol] to turn it on. The main cable's female adapter must be connected to the tool and its captive screws tightened.
- Ensure your tool is sufficiently charged or connected to the power source.
- Press and hold the Lock/Power button [power symbol] to turn on the key programming tool.
- Connect the female adapter of the main cable to the key programming tool and tighten the captive screws.
Step 3: Connect to Vehicle
Step 3 illustrates connecting the tool to the vehicle. The 16-pin male adapter of the main cable connects to the vehicle's DLC port, typically found under the dashboard. The tool is then ready for use.
- Connect the 16-pin male adapter of the main cable to the vehicle's DLC, which is generally located under the vehicle dashboard.
- Your key programming tool is now ready for use.
Step 4: Software Update
- Ensure the key programming tool is connected to the Internet.
- Tap 'Update' on the Home screen to view and install available updates.
Immobilizer Function
This function requires a connection among the vehicle, the IM508S key programming tool, and the XP200.
Step 1: Connect Vehicle and Tool
Step 1 for the Immobilizer Function shows the vehicle and the MaxiIM IM508S tool connected via the supplied main cable.
- Connect the vehicle and the key programming tool with the supplied main cable.
Step 2: Connect XP200 and Select Function
Step 2 shows the MaxiIM IM508S tool connected to the XP200 using a USB cable. Users then select 'Immobilizer' on the Home screen and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Connect the key programming tool and the XP200 with the supplied USB cable.
- Select 'Immobilizer' on the Home screen and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.
Programming Function
This function requires connection between the MaxiIM IM508S key programming tool and the XP200.
