Battery Installation
Follow these steps to install batteries:
- Open the door at the bottom of the camera by pulling the latch.
- Drop the battery tray by sliding the orange EJECT latch to the right.
- Align the batteries with the positive (+) facing up on the outside, and the negative (-) facing up on the inside.
Notes:
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (ni-cad, ni-mh, etc.) batteries.
SD Card Installation
Follow these steps to install an SD card:
- Load an SD memory card (up to 32GB) into the SD card slot with the notch in first and the metal pins facing you.
Important:
- Make sure the camera is powered off before removing or installing an SD card.
- If using an SD card from other cameras, format it on your computer before use. New cards are okay straight from the package.
Note: A "No SD card" message will appear after power up if the SD card is missing or corrupted.
Time Zone Settings
Slide the TIMEZONE switch to set your time zone. The options are:
- P - Pacific region (UTC-8hr)
- M - Mountain region (UTC-7hr)
- C - Central region (UTC-6hr)
- E - Eastern region (UTC-5hr)
These settings adjust the time based on the atomic clock signal received.
Delay Settings
Slide the DELAY switch to select your delay setting. Delay is the time the camera waits before taking the next photo or video after a trigger. Options are 15 seconds, 30 seconds, or 1 minute.
Powering On and Initial Operation
To turn the camera on, move the MODE switch to Photo or Video mode.
When powered on, the LCD will initially display the factory default (incorrect) time. After 30 seconds, the LCD will turn off, and the camera will begin capturing images.
Note: The camera's test LED will blink on each photo/video trigger for the first 3 minutes of operation, then remain off.
Manual Settings - Time
While the camera is switched on, press the OK button to light up the LCD.
- To change the time, press and release the OK navigation button to set the hour.
- Press the + navigation button to cycle through options or increase the value.
- When the hour is set, repeat steps 1 and 2 to set the minutes.
Manual Settings - Date
After setting the minutes for time, press the OK navigation button to change the date.
- Press the OK navigation button to set the month.
- Press the + navigation button to cycle through options or increase the value.
- When the month is set, repeat steps 1 and 2 to set the day and year.
Atomic Clock Sync
This camera can automatically acquire the time and date from the WWVB atomic clock radio station.
To initiate a sync, press and hold the + button for 5 seconds while powering the camera on. The test LED will blink yellow, and the LCD will display "SYNC". Upon successful acquisition, the LED blinks green, and the camera briefly shows the acquired time before capturing images.
If the camera cannot acquire the time after 10 minutes, the LED will blink red, and the LCD will show the last saved time. The camera attempts to sync every 6 hours without interrupting image capture.
If the time is successfully acquired or manually set, the camera will attempt a daily sync at 1 AM to ensure accuracy. The test LED remains off during this sync to avoid alerting animals, but the screen will still display "SYNC".
Image Display Information
Images captured by the camera will display the following information:
- A: Time
- B: Date
- C: Moon Phase
- D: Photo Count
Mounting
To mount the camera to a tree:
- Remove the clip from one end of the strap.
- Slide the strap through the slots on the back of the camera.
- Place the clip back onto the strap.
- Wrap the strap around the tree and clip the two ends together.
- Pull the excess strap material to ensure the camera is tightly secured to the tree.
Important Mounting Tips:
- Recommended distance from the target area is 25-30 feet for optimal imaging quality.
- Avoid mounting the unit facing the rising or setting sun to prevent direct sunlight into the lens.
- In dusty environments or on feeders, regularly clean the camera lens cover, flash cover, and PIR sensor cover.
- Periodically check the mounting to ensure it is secure.
- Ensure the camera door is securely latched to activate the moisture seal.
- Check batteries frequently to prevent corrosive build-up.
Retrieving Images (SD Card Reader)
- Remove the SD card from the camera by pressing it until it ejects.
- Insert the SD card into your SD card reader.
Refer to your card reader's manual for viewing files. The WGI SD Card Reader for Apple or Android can be used to access photos and upload them to the cloud via the WGI Huntsmart app.
Format SD Card
To format your SD card using the camera:
Press and hold the OK button for 5 seconds while turning the camera on. The LCD screen will display "DLT" (delete) during formatting.
WARNING: Formatting your SD card will delete all files on it.
Note: SDXC CARDS ARE NOT SUPPORTED.
To format your SD card using a computer:
- Connect the SD card to your computer (use an adapter for MicroSD cards or a USB reader if needed).
- Open File Explorer (Windows: Win + E).
- Right-click the drive letter for your memory device and select "Format".
- Ensure "FAT32" is selected under "File System".
- Ensure "Quick Format" is checked.
- Click "Start".
Limited Warranty
Wildgame Innovations scouting cameras are covered by a 365-Day Limited Warranty on parts and labor from the original purchase date, provided the purchase was made through an authorized dealer.
The warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials but does not apply to units damaged or abused intentionally or unintentionally. Purchases from individuals or unauthorized sites like eBay void the warranty.
Camera registration with Wildgame Innovations (via web, email, or phone) and a receipt from the point of purchase are required for any Factory Reset options.
Tampering with or altering the unit, or unauthorized service, will void the warranty.
A copy of the original sales receipt and a Return Authorization (RA) number obtained from customer service (1.888.508.5922) are required for warranty service.
Wildgame Innovations is not responsible for lost or untraceable packages without an RA number.
