Conditions of Use

This appliance is intended for household and similar applications such as:

Using the Burners

Symbols on the knob indicate the correspondence between the knob and the burner.

Automatic Start-up with Valves

Turn the corresponding knob anticlockwise to the maximum position (large flame) and press the knob. Keep the knob pressed for about 6 seconds. The triple ring (wok) burner switches on only in the maximum flame position.

Using the Burners

For maximum yield without gas waste, ensure the pot diameter is suitable for the burner (see table). Use maximum capacity to quickly reach boiling temperature, and reduced capacity to heat food or maintain boiling. Operating positions should be between the maximum and minimum points. The gas supply can be interrupted by turning the knob clockwise to the closing position. If there is no power supply, burners can be lit with matches by setting the knob to the start-up point (large flame).

It is important to use cookware with the specified sizes and ensure it is correctly centered over the burner. Using oversize cookware can cause heat damage to your benchtop and/or control knobs, which will not be covered under warranty.

The room must have natural air inflow for regular gas combustion and ventilation (minimum 20m³). Air must come from permanent openings to the outside. The section of these openings shall correspond to at least 200 cm².

OPERATION ON N.G / S.N.G.

Regulator

An appliance regulator is provided. Position the regulator so the pressure test nipple is accessible. Connect the gas supply to the regulator's 1/2" B.S.P. internal thread inlet. Refer to page 8 for connection point position. Regulators are supplied pre-adjusted for Natural Gas. The installer is not required to make adjustments for outlet pressure.

An arrow on the regulator base indicates gas flow direction. Check connections for leaks with soapy water.

Gas Connection

This appliance is supplied for Natural Gas but can be converted for LPG. Refer to LP conversion chapter.

Supply pipe sizing

Total hourly gas consumption is shown on the data label. Required supply pressure for each gas type is also on the data label and in the "TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTIC TABLES". Use this information with pipe length, elbows, tees, bends, service pressure, and other appliances' supply requirements to determine suitable pipe size. Refer to AS5601 for assistance.

An AGA certified class B or D flexible connection may be used in accordance with AS5601, section 4.8. The hose assembly, when the cooktop is installed, shall be suitable for connection to a fixed consumer piping outlet located 800-850mm above the floor, outside the appliance width, and 250mm away. The connection point must be accessible with the appliance installed.

Elbow positioning

The elbow can be repositioned by loosening the locking nut and elbow, using two spanners. Re-tighten the assembly. Ensure the sealing washer is fitted when fitting the elbow to the appliance.

Assembly of Regulator

The regulator assembly to the cooktop manifold is via the elbow union and supplied sealing washers. The 1/2" parallel thread connects to the manifold, and the sealing washer is placed between the manifold end and the flat face on the elbow. The 1/2" tapered thread connects to the regulator outlet, sealed with approved thread sealing tape or compound. The regulator inlet is a 1/2" parallel thread, connected to consumer piping or hose assembly. Regulators are supplied pre-adjusted for Natural Gas.

An arrow on the regulator base indicates gas flow direction. Check connections for leaks with soapy water.

Checking the gas supply

  1. Check the manometer zero point is correct.
  2. Connect the manometer to the cooktop pressure point on the regulator.
  3. Turn on the gas supply and electricity. Try to ignite the gas. NOTE: It will take additional time to light the gas for the first time as air needs to be purged from the pipes.
  4. With the appliance operating, check the outlet pressure when all burners are operating at maximum, and when the smallest burner is operating at minimum.

Under these conditions, the outlet pressure should not vary from the nominal outlet pressure of 1.00kPa by more than ± 0.20kPa.

If the regulator appears to not perform satisfactorily, check the following points:

  1. If the outlet pressure is consistently too low, the inlet pressure may be too low, or an upstream regulator or valve with insufficient flow capacity may be present. If suspected, repeat checks measuring both inlet and outlet pressure to determine if the inlet pressure is in the range 1.13 - 5kPa.
  2. Check that the regulator has been fitted to the gas supply line in the correct orientation; the arrow on the base indicates gas flow direction.

Replacing the injectors

If the equipment is adjusted for a different gas type, replace the burner injectors according to the "technical characteristics" table. Act as follows:

After changing injectors, eliminate residual natural gas by turning each burner to maximum, pressing the knob, and waiting a few seconds.

Adjusting the burners

The lowest flame point must always be properly adjusted and remain on even with an abrupt shift from maximum to minimum position. If not, adjust as follows:

Maintenance

Maintenance Schedule

No regular maintenance is required for the hotplates except cleaning.

Replacing the power supply cable

If the power supply cable needs replacement, use a cable with a section of 3x0.75mm², type H05VV-F or H05RR-F, complying with regulations. Connection to the terminal board must be as shown in fig.9 - 9/A:
